Whilst we appreciate members being active on the forum I would like to remind people that this is essentially a website/forum for people to ask for and give help on hair dyeing/bleaching and similar topics. People chatting to each other is fine as we like all members to get on well and think of each other as friends however recently we have had to remove several posts and threads as they were in essential private chats between friends. Please note we are not trying to stop people chatting to each other about non hair dye related issues and this is mainly a reminder to members who may be posting 30+ posts a day most of which are posts which are non-relevant to other forum members and are more entire topics created for chat between a few friends only.
This website uses alot of bandwidth to run which is why we limit the Private Messages (PM's) to only 5 per user per hour - this helps to reduce the drain on the website resources and also reduces the damage that spammers can do. Allowing members to post more than 5 PM's per hour or making dozens of posts per hours for personal chats can cause server/website issues and may even cause downtime or slow running of the forum for all members.
If any member needs to make dozens of personal posts or pm's in a short space of time they may find a website such as twitter or facebook may be more suitable for these personal chats and then they can post on here as normal about hair dye etc. There are also programs such as msn messager and yahoo etc that may help to have more private one-on-one chats.

In a way I think it's a testament to the good people and lovely folk who join in on this forum on a regular basis and create such a wonderful atmosphere in here. I know it feels a little like we're a hairdresser shop and a cafe rolled into one but the buddy thing has come about by chance, more than by design.
But to reitterate what Nickki said, we're an advice centre, basically there's a lot of good friends rolled into it and it's wonderful but there are chat threads already for every day banter and "get it off your chest" moments etc. If you want to chat that's awesome and it should continue but let others get a word in.

Just to add that the people concerned have been pm'd so if someone is reading this and wondering if they are doing too much personal chat don't worry - if you haven't received a PM about it then what your doing is fine. I like that we are all friendly and care about each other but I had to make the post above to try and balance the personal chat with actual relevant posts.
