Directions Hair Dye Changes -

There has been a thread created on the forum about changes to some of the LaRiche Directions Hair Colours. Due to EU Regulations Directions say they changed Alpine Green, Spring Green & Turquoise last year. Apparently changes to Alpine & Turquoise are only visual in the tub and the dye results should still be the same, however Spring Green has changed quite a bit and will give different results on the hair.

We are currently waiting on confirmation that no other colours have been changed, and updated colour swatches so we can change these on the Beeunique website.

We have also asked for confirmation that these are the only colours to have changed.

More information on these changes can be seen on Directions facebook page and also on the Directions Changes post on the forum.

After several phone calls and emails we finally have more information on the Directions dye changes and have the new swatches on the website.  The Gallery will be updated this weekend.

Due to EU Regulations regarding the pigments that can be used in dyes, LaRiche Directions say they have slightly changed Alpine Green, Spring Green & Turquoise.

Alpine Green - this is now a lighter green with less blue pigment than the old version:

Spring Green - very similar to the old spring green shade, just a tad brighter:

Turquoise - this is the biggest change and is now a paler turquoise shade than before:

Other Changes:

Ebony - this was changed after customer feedback reported it as fading too green. Directions have now altered the pigments in this dye so it has more of a red base.

Plum - a change in pigments meant the latest batch of this was slightly bluer than before, however after positive customer feedback Directions have decided to keep this new colour.

Cheers Nickki.  Hopefully that really is *everything* that's changed and nothing else comes out of the woodwork from Directions!

I suppose it's good in a way, the change in regulations have forced them to change mixes and listen to feedback at the same time. The ebony change is good!

I feel as if that Plum swatch still isn't accurate though :/ it's turned out so unbelievably blue on so many people's hair, really far from that shade of purple in my opinion... I hope people who want to use Plum for a purple colour really do their research first cause if they think it's going to look like that for a long time before fading to blue, they're going to be very disappointed...

This; I've never actually used Directions dyes before, but from what I could gather none of the veggie blacks were red-based, and I was really hoping to find one at some point. Like the look of the new Alpine Green too πŸ™‚

The plum swatch is based on information from LaRiche and a test strand done here.  If you know of photos of the new bluer plum shade on hair please pm me a link so I can make sure the website is as accurate as can be πŸ™‚
