How did you manage to remove all the colour build up? Colour removers, your own method + bleach baths or any other things?

From the permanent black, it was color removers (2) then 3 bleach baths, but even then the ends were stained horribly from so many full head applications of the black.

To remove the semi buildup/stickiness of the Atomic Pink, it was just the bleach powder + shampoo + oils that did it!

Well I spent all day toning my hair from this (excuse the makeup-less face!), which is the same as before except I put Nirvel ArtX Nutre Color in Grey over it, super, super diluted, you can see how it's a really neutral grey.

to this:

(I have no idea why my camera phone seems to have the sharpness  turned wayyy up, I look like I have tinsel in my hair lol)

I used Pravana Red, Orange, Yellow and Green all very, very diluted. I was trying to get it as even as possible to use the Nirvel Grey dye stronger on it, maybe 1 part conditioner to 2 parts dye, and here's the results from that:

I love this grey so much, it's so natural looking which is what I wanted. I didn't want a blue/purple looking silver at all, I wanted an actual darker grey, salt + pepper kinda color. I don't really like the purple still coming through( from that darn Atomic Pink from freaking October!) so I put it on again almost neat, I only added a squirt of conditioner to help with any potential bleeding/transfer. Though I highly doubt this dye is a bleeder, it's pretty weakly pigmented like Ion's colors (aside from their blues, duh). It feels almost like applying a permanent dye when you use it (almost) straight from the tube, it really sinks in. I don't know if it has any protein in it, I have to check the ingredients, because my hair feels more dry after dying it with this neat. It's not very conditioning like other semis, but that's alright because the color rocks! I will be posting photos later of it used neat on me, it looks so cool!

Thanks Marthakins + Lily! I was really happy with this shade of grey but I just really didn't like those pink streaks, and you could see a bit of green shining through from where my toning got on the hair that didn't need toning. I'm doing a deep conditioning treatment on it now, it really does feel dry after dying it with this stuff, then I'll get some pictures up of the darker color πŸ™‚ It is pretty dark, like a dark charcoal grey, I feel like one of my Victorian porcelain dolls from when I was a kid lol

This is literally the perfect grey colour.  Looks amazing Katie :)!  How long did you leave the dye on for if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you! The instructions say to leave it in for 3 or 5 minutes I think? Idk that just doesn't seem like enough time to me, I left it in for about an hour and a half under a cap and I warmed it up for about 10 minutes in the beginning
