My Timeline 2006 - 2011 + new colour Feb 2011!!!!

Thought I'd do one of these as I've enjoyed everyone else's! Had a few purply-reddy colours prior to 2005, then I inexplicably had my hair cut really short (there are no photos of this period!) It grew nice and long during 2005 so I will start from 2006!

Hairdresser used to do this, dark brown with blonde through the fringe. The blonde looked better when I grew the fringe out as I could pin up the front two-tone πŸ™‚

Next I started getting more blonde in, which ended up as follows (July 07 I think):

Got bored of the blonde, wanted to go red but had lot of roots. The new (stupid) hairdresser I went to said it wouldn't matter, sure enough two weeks later I was bright pink on the lengths & red brown on top...

Stupidly I went back to the same hairdressers, and asked them to do something to sort it out. I ended up with this, which to me looks like I was stabbed in the head:

I was so p*ssed off with hairdressers by this point I turned to box dye & DIY and started to go a dark brown (Sept 2007):

After this I kept it long and got darker to the point where it was black. Kept it like this until Feb 2010 when I got it cut short:

Decided I wanted a colour change in Aug / Sept 2010 & I went to see the hairdresser, who told me I had no hope of ever getting my hair blonde unless I built up highlights after stripping some of the black out. I stripped a fair bit out using head and shoulders, then had the highlights done. They used a different colour on the lengths to the roots to try and match up the colour, unfortunately it didn’t quite work and it was a bit stripy on the top..was happy it was lighter but not really happy with the colour or layout! This pic a bit rubbish but you can see what I mean re the roots:

Then inspired by my friend who has gorgeous pink hair that she does herself, I decided to go for the bleach and the red! Here’s the stages from bleach night (the red is Poppy Red Directions):

Loved it! But I was offered the job the afternoon before I did it, and figured it would be best to darken it off a little for the first week whilst I sussed the place out (as some of you might have read on my other posts).

So first up I dyed over it with Rubine (Directions) – nice colour but I didn’t feel it was β€œme”:

Then I did a mix of poppy red & ebony, which sufficiently darkened it off for the first day or two, but now it is a dark pink (pic from the night I did it):

So...what next? Well I was at my regional office with work on Weds and my hair was fairly bright and fairly pink...no one batted an eyelid, so sod it, am going back to the poppy red next week, hurrah!
Sorry for such a big running commentary!

Rubine (Directions) looked great on you! it's a pity you didn't felt it "was you" :/

I love the picture of your hair when you bleached it just before the red, it just completely proves your hairdressers wrong haha and I like the poppy πŸ™‚

Hope it was ok for me to modify the title! As I mentioned in another post I was having a nightmare getting hold of poppy red, so decided to go cerise instead - here's some pics:

What do you think? People at work and my friends on the whole seem to prefer it to the poppy...I loves it! x
