i totally agree! i did a stupid thing bleaching 4 times in two days! which had ruined alot of my hair in the process. i've already had over a inch cut off and going to have another load of hair cut off each month until it's all grown out. i'm never doing such a irresponsible thing like that again so i don't have to depend on joico π that was i was trying to say π xxxx
Silver shampoo won't 'lift' the colour as it's not a lightening product, but it will help even out the orangey tones somewhat. Bonacure is the best in my opinion, I left this on my yellowy hair when I was going silver/white, for about 20 mins (on damp hair) and it helped cancel it out really well π
However it may not noticeably work on the darker parts, and if your hair is damaged at all/very porous, it may go a tad lilacy (if it does just wash it a few times with normal shampoo)
I got mine from amazon rather than ebay
With Kpak, I agree with what everyone else has said, and it is *great* but it's not going to magically fix your hair if you damage it, and sometimes hair can go beyond repair and will end up needing to be cut (take it from someone who originally had lovely waist length hair, and is now still trying to grow it back from shoulder length!) x
i am def trying.. i ordered k pak last night should get it from 14th to 17th.. my dyes came today but im gona order a silver too and some highlight mesh.i think im gona wait till everythings came through and in the mean while ill do a few strand tests...if it comes on the 15th say( k pak ,silver n mesh ) then ill bb that wkend , i know its not much but i will dilute it alot and leave it on for very minimal time, ill give it a cut and k pak it straight after,or if i can ill wait till around the 21st,it is easing of abit now and im fighting the urge to do it so soon....prob cus i got my dyes and ill be wanting to mess with them for a good while 1st lol..x
so anyway im sure no 1 will answer this post as i did completly the opersite of what i was advised but i bleach bathed my hair this morning AGAIN,i used it ontop of the coconut oil, which i will not be doing again cus although it is deff protecting my hair its just making things to hard to section n therefor not covering proper but anyway it still feels in great condition ( well see how long that lasts ) and it deff lightend it ( in some areas ) after a 20 min tone some parts were true silver, brilliant but some parts are the same as before i even started bleaching...so iv decided im gona give my hair 4 weeks to recover and then im gona bleach bath with out coconut oil, then im gona use a mix of silver shampoo and part normal shampoo and aplly it to dry hair for 30 min

wow that's amazing ^_^ i bet you're only one bleach bath away on the really stubborn parts ^_^ but silver shampoo have toned it all done in a months time π i think some people just apply coconut oil as a deep conditioner as well? π xxx
hi everyone i havent had internet for over a week its really killed me but anyway my hair is all done, its not perfect as i never got to a full silver so the pastels on top are patche but i still love it and i just wasnt prepared to bleach my hair again, which i wud have done if i didnt colour it soooo,,,im of to wedding tomorrow so ill take some photos then its had 2 coats and ill give it a touch up tonight....and to all the girls who said dont bleach.. i can now say that after my 1st full head bleach i bb another 2 times a week apart , only cause i thought my hair was in good nick and although it still is in very good condition considering, i have deff noticed some breakage, iv always had it but its deff shifted up a gear, so even tho some parts did go silver and took the pastels great i wasnt willing to risk another bb, so you were right.although i do really love my hair and its down to you girls on here that i now have ace hair..and i can see me being an avid fan of multi coloured hair for the rest of time..hope you love it too will post tomoz.xxxxxx
If you had waited, you could have had perfect results and had a perfect coverage with the pastels. As it is, the parts that are too damaged will have difficulty holding onto the colour, that's if it has any cuticle left at all. Also, you might not yet have the full extent of the damage coming through.
Listen next time. We all told you so and it's not really a consolation for you to tell we were right. We knew we were. It's not fun giving advice for it to then be ignored.
lol, my hair isnt damaged , the reason its not holding the colour is because it had to much yellow left in it to grab the lighter pastel.and this is because i didnt bleach the hell out of it.iv seen much worse condition of peoples hair on here than mine, and yes i prob shouldnt have done the last bb i did but you live and learn..and i learnt that i dont have the patients to go white
If it's breaking off it's damaged. Short of gummy, that is the worst damage. Even if you normally have breakage, that still means it's damaged.
As I said, the full extent of damage doesn't always show for a few weeks.
its deff not gummy at all,and no breakage just extra strands coming away from the scalp..prob just abit stressed as my hair is not used to bleach and all the other products iv been using on it,plus it could prob do with a trim as i havent had one in about a yr and a half ( shocking )..i understand where your coming from and i dont wana fall out but you must know that with all the best will and advise people will make there own choices and generally should know what there hair can and cant take....x
Bleaching doesn't make hair fall out from the roots (unless it's breaking at the scalp and that's even worse). No products make hair fall from the roots. You admitted that we were right. There is some damage, I don't believe the hair is falling out at the roots. I've had people I know tell me their hair isn't damaged, when it clearly is.
I do know that people can and will make their own choices. But I also know that I don't want people to read this and think, "oh, well it worked for her, I'm going to do the same". People don't know very often what their hair can take as they don't understand hair. I've actually done a course in the science of hair and I still don't know everything about my own or other people hair.
But to ask for advice and then ignore it... I will say I told you so and in no uncertain terms. I did tell you that before!
I'm not arguing with you. There's no falling out to be done, I don't do anything as childish as that. But I am telling you straight, you shouldn't have done it and you know it too.
I have to agree with Janine here ... you addressed everyone who said "don't bleach" (which is everyone) and said you bleached again because you thought your hair was in "good nick", but it turns out that your breakage "kicked up a notch" and we "were right".
Don't backtrack and say it's coming out from your roots when you've already said otherwise.
Your hair may not be in the worst condition, but it is defintely not in good condition. If you had waited like everyone said, you wouldn't have all the "extra breakage".
You can't say your hair is in ace condition if it's breaking, I'm sorry, but that's a contradiction of terms.
I'm glad you love how your hair turned out, but I hope that this "extra breakage" teaches you to take care of it better so you can keep loving it.
And I also wouldn't want someone who is trying to go from a difficult to remove colour like red or black think that they can manage pastels in less than a month without damaging their hair. I'm sorry, but it simply does not work that way. Can we stop people from damaging their hair? No. But we can give them advance warning.
Also, in the beginning of your process a chunk of hair came out. That should have told you right there that your hair was damaged to begin with, as the process that caused it to come out isn't actually fundementally damaging ... so your hair must have been damaged to start with in order to lose a piece of it when doing a non-damaging process. You really should have stopped after that and worked on improving the condition of your hair.
like i said everyone has there own opinion and i said you were right in the case that i have noticed some extra damage from my hair ( although i think with even the best hair you can still have extra damage after bleaching ) i just think to come back with a i told you so, your hair is recked , if you have any cuticle left at all...is abit harsh when you have no idea what condition my hair is in...on the subject of warning people against doing what i did, this is the reason i said id noticed extra damage, and as for my hair being damaged to beggin with, it deff wasnt.. the clump of hair was from notting. the jo bazz buffer which can dry ur hair out, which u have to use for 5 minets tangled up my long lengths of hair and formed a not.i am not saying any of you are wrong im just trying to say please dont make it out to be something its not.yes i wouldnt advise doing it how iv done it, yes my result is not perfect, yes i have noticed my hair being more damaged than normal....
"( although i think with even the best hair you can still have extra damage after bleaching )"
When did I say bleaching perfect hair isn't damaging? Of course it is. It'll damage all hair. Which is precisely the point.
You may think I'm being harsh. Maybe I am. But as I say, I won't hold back because what you've done, because as I said someone else might see and think, oh well that's fine, it worked for her so I'm going to do it". Then we have to deal with the fall out (literal fall out) again. Your hair is more damaged than it need be. I will drive that fact home.
Maybe I can't see the results on your hair, but I know what that kind of processing does to everyones hair.
