If you can't handle the risk of having to cut hair you shouldn't bother bleaching it ever again. It's the reality of processing hair.

I wish I could get extensions. But I don't have the money to. It would be great to just cut it all off, since the long bottom layer of my hair is the part that is still really orange. But I can't muster up the courage. that picture scares me. But my hair has been worse than this and it got better.... and I will bleach again, (when its healthy enough) not everyone cuts off all their hair when they bleach it. I wanna see how the coconut oil works, and if it is still nappy in a few weeks, I will cut it... Maybe. But I can't find a short hair cut I even like, I need something thats short but not too short and cute. πŸ˜€

just get a trim then, not cut short, then at least some of the damage will be gone. It's good to get a trim about every 6 weeks, to keep the hair healthy

I'd love to meet someone with hair in good condition after bleaching that never cuts their hair. I'd personally give them $1000. It's your choice not to cut your hair, however it's also your choice to now ignore advice from people that are trying to help you. It sucks your hair is damaged, and almost everyone here has had a bleach mishap. I've done it, and I'm still trying to fix my hair from it 9 months later. Coconut oil will not miraculously fix your hair. Get a trim. Tie your hair back for a few weeks until it grows back. You will look fine.

I've never been opposed to a trim. As you can see in the pictures I posted, I have cut a lot off already. I will still trim, I was just saying I don't want to just cut the whole bottom layer off. I came here for advice, not to be told what I have to do. I'm not ignoring anyone. I'm listening.  Just because someone thinks I should cut my hair, and even though it's probably the best thing to doesnt mean I have to. No need to be rude. My hair isn't the same as everyone else. and as I said earlier.... I am trying to grow it out and I tie it back all the time so people cant see the orange...
But, uhhh thanks for the imput.... πŸ˜€

I don't think anyone was being rude.  There are a lot of people that come here asking for advice, and then go on to ignore it and then complain when they go on to further damage their hair, or try something different than was recommended and wonder why it isn't working.

When you're hair is that damaged, the ONLY fix is a good cut.  That's what these gals have all been trying to say.  There is no miracle product on the market to fix the damage... only mask it... and by masking it, it'll only get worse in time.

No one is telling you HAVE to cut your hair.  Everyone who has responded is telling you the ONLY fix is to cut it.  So if you want to fix it and prevent further damage, stop bleaching and get it cut, then go on to use the products suggested to keep your remaining hair healthy until it grows out and follow recommended protocol for bleaching in the future to avoid repeating the same mistakes.

The AMOUNT of people that come on here and bang on about not liking/ignoring our advice (which is obviously useful) is laughable.
If you use the advice given and fix your hair then nice one, join the club, you will have perfect hair again.
If not, I'm not arsed. Just don't go on and on later about ways to fix it (loads if old members have done that) because that, to me, is much ruder.

I'll join in and add this - I didnt want to cut my hair after I ruined a full length 2/3rds of it, but in the end I started cutting it every month - it took a year to get rid of but my hair as of a few months ago is in a perfect condition minus the very weird fade I have going on, even the most annoying area is not annoying anymore.
Ofcourse that there are other factors that helped out such as insanely fast growth, bleaching every 3 months and treating it with protein shots, oils, almost no warm/hot blowing to none and many other things you start doing... but its worth it.
I only wish I knew this before I ruined my insanely long hair by never cutting it and overbleaching it to the point it HAD to be cut to my shoulder-neck because half of it ripped away anyway.

As I said. I do trim it. I just dont want to cut all the damage off in 1 day even if its the best thing to do.  I'm trying to grow it out, then I will cut the damage off little by little each month. and I have taken a lot of advice on this forum. I have stopped bleaching, I have gotten clairifing shampoo, silver shampoo, a reconstructor and coconut oil. etc.

Humour me whilst I attempt to explain one more time.

The nature of the damage you have will continue to travel up the shaft of your hair UNLESS you cut the worst of it away all at one time.  You will not be able to trim little bits every month and grow out the worst parts because you're leaving too much damage hair behind.  It's like glass with spider cracks.  You can't just take out the broken bits and expect the spider cracks not to continue to spread.  Hair is a lot like glass that way.  The splits (whether you can see them with your naked eye or not) continue to travel up the damaged hair shaft unless the damage is cut away.  Then, a trim once a month maintains ALREADY HEALTHY hair.  You can't fix the amount of damage you've described and shown us in photos with coconut oil or treaments.  No amount of anything will stop the damage from traveling up the hair shaft unless it's cut away.  Period.

Good luck.  I hope you figure it out.

I just wanted to do a little update for you guys.
I ended up taking all of your advise and I cut my hair! I cut the damage off. My hair rests at my collar bone now. and I went to Sally's and bought a few things.
I got The Sally's Generic Reconstructing conditioner the one that compares to Joico Kpak, hask placenta, and Aphogee reconstruction conditioner.
MY HAIR IS SOOOOO SOFT NOW. Like its crazy how soft it is. I can't believe it and im actually liking the shorter hair. Its no longer breaking off and its not even the slightest bit crispy. I can actually run my fingers through it.
Its still orange though...

Sorry for not taking your advise sooner.
and Thanks.

I'm pleased for you πŸ™‚ there wasn't really any other way, nothing fixes hair that's gone that far sadly and it just gets whose and worse over time. I love short hair anyway, so I've never really understood why everyone wants bum length hair. πŸ˜‰

Just keep an eye out at the ends for splits or anything suggesting the hair is still damaged. It can feel soft and still not be anywhere near its best. So just keep checking.

Thank you g474xy.

I just want long hair, because when i was growing up, I always had super short hair, like guy short I was a tomboy, hella, like in the drive though when i would get a happy meal they would look at me and put the boy toy in it.. I was like wtf.. I want barbieeee. Lol. But I always wanted to grow it out, then by the time it got to my shoulders it would be super hot outside and was hard to take care of so I'd just go get it cut again. Then I finally grew it out last summer and it was sooooo pretty. I miss it. I really want to get extensions. But I do like my hair at this length. I will post a picture when I can.
