A few years ago I was always dying my hair either red or purple, but then I settled on a white blonde for a while as I was about to start a new job:
(Note: just before this, I had dyed my hair blue/black. I got my hair from that colour to pale yellow in just a few days - God knows what my hair is made of to be able to stand up to that kind of abuse!)
Early last year I got sick of the blonde, and it was becoming more and more difficult to find the toner I used anyway. So I decided to go for the complete opposite:
Recently, though, I've felt a yearning for the old days. I certainly feel more like myself when I have an interesting hair colour. So I bought some bleach and a couple of tubs of Directions Rose Red, and...
I love the colour, as it has a deep purple sheen at night and a bright magenta hue in daylight. I'm so happy to rejoin the ranks of the pinky-hued!

I really liked the white, as on a good day it would look really striking. I stopped being able to find the toner I used so easily though (I used the Superdrug Colour Effects ash blonde stuff - am I right in thinking it's being discontinued??), and then I went to Germany for a few months where of course there wasn't any at all! I never found a replacement that worked as well or was as cheap, and without the right toner the dull yellowy-ness of my hair made me sad. Also having to bleach my roots so often was making me worry it would all fall out.
Here's a better pic of the rose red colour (although it still looks even brighter in daylight!) so you can get an idea of how it comes out on hair that's been bleached to orange. Complete with magenta scalp! 😀
