Ah, good to know that the steamer technique isn't so cool~
And I've thought of another question in regards to braiding them in......Normally I'll use a close-ended bobby pin to snag a chunk of hair and pull it through the loop.
However, I bought the pack of them a few years ago, and now it seems that style isn't on the market anymore! The majority of mine have been scattered to the wind and I have one left....scared to loose that one, heh. Of course the 'V' end-shaped ones don't work as they catch on the loop (anything not impeccably smooth, and mine get pretty ragged after several wears...)
What do you use to thread pieces of hair? @_@
urmm, im trying to think what i used now.. i think i used a hairband and a metal hook.. here is the tutorial i used ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cCv-thhAzo
Well the good thing about the technique with straighteners is that after you made the dread it will all ready be dry because you would have steamed out all the water =]
and yeh.. litterally 7 hours, standing and brading, without a break haha, i just remember my back really hurting, but yeh, im a bit of a perfectionist, so every hair needed to be braded in, and every section needed to be dead straight, etc x)
Ah, thanks for the link. I'll check it out.
Perfectionist indeed! Well done.
I kinda prefer mine to be messy as I usually don't go for a full head of them; I just kind of throw them in wherever looks cool. I like to twist up other strands of hair with them and band it back in strips, or just dread a section of my hair and ponytail that to the side with some random normal hair chunks laced in. Chaotic perfection, more or less.....>_<V
Once my friend and I gave each other mohawks where we just dreaded the sides of our hair back in a dragon weave and spiked up the middle section~ epic......
Ahhh they look incredible, can you please come and put mine in for me?? π
Last time I had them my friend put them in and they were a bit lumpy, I love how straight and even you've done them for your friend. I have to attempt to put all of mine in myself this time, never done it before!
