Will red cover this evenly?

In an attempt to get to red I bleached my roots and used color b4 on the brown but it did nothing and I was left with bleach blonde roots and dark brown hair πŸ™ so I had to resort to bleaching the rest of my hair and I ended up with this mess. Do you think red will cover this? I do have some darker brownish streaks too. *ott*

What red are you going for?

I think you might need to get it a little more even. Or, use a light brown to fill in the light areas and then use the red. It can depend on the dye though. I'd suggest trying a strand test on some hair that has as many of the different tones as possible and then you'll have a better idea.

A really heavily pigmented red might cover fairly well, but you'd probably have to do two applications to really deepen the colour on the light parts.

I know you said that the colourB4 did nothing, but it is probably worth trying again. The bleach could well have stripped anything blocking the remover working.

I second what Janine said about possibly filling in the top with a light brown, I've never used red over a brown dye, but I have used it when bits of my hair didn't take the bleach properly and the patches were always still a bit visible (I used to mainly use SFX Nuclear Red), you might be ok with something darker, I found Candy Apple Red had good coverage but it didn't really come out red on me, more a purpley blackcurrant juice look.

I've bought directions pillar box red and adore crimson. I do have another box of colour b4 that I can try. I don't really care what red I turn out as long as it's even and covered up... my problem is that I have to get this done by tomorrow.

If you can get some adore locally in brown, I'd do that. If not, see if you can get a brown true semi in superdrug. I don't really have a better suggestion if you need it done for tomorrow. I don't think pillar box red will cover it effectively on it's own. You can get away with quite a bit, but I'd say yours is just a little too much as it is now.

I think I have some left over adore chocolate. Should I dilute that at all before putting it on?

I'd try a strand. But yes, diluting would be a good idea. You just want it so it's a similar depth of colour to the sort of mid to darker parts of your hair. I think it can afford to be lighter than the darkest parts. You don't want it really dark or you will get black with a red hint once you put the red on.

The colour remover may work better now you have bleached, definitely worth a strand test

I just tried Colour B4 again. Do you think this looks more even?

I think so. Hard to really tell though.

It does look more even to me, but I think you'll prob still get darker bits, it could look ok though, maybe test some red on  a strand that's got light and dark and see?

Yes I think red will cover that ! MY hair has been darker in the past and dyed red and was fairly vibrant. Did you try it? I'd love to see results.
