Will brown cover my hair?

At the moment I'm slightly over the colourful hair (must be my hormones lol).
My hair was dark purple which I was previously going to use a colour remover on but after asking questions on here if it was safe to use during pregnancy I decided to just wait it out & fade it with other methods which it has worked quite well, the closer to my roots it's a pinky purple quite light in colour, but toward the ends its a bluey purple kind of colour which is also quite light. I'm just wondering if a semi brown will cover it, I've been looking at Adore & wanted to get Mohogany but don't think that'll come out as I picture in my head over my base so am now thinking either Mocha or Medium brown. My only concern now is will this cover or will it leave a horrible green tint? I'm going to do another fading method during the week with some vitamin c tablets & H&S shampoo & see where that gets me.
