They can't sell it as it doesn't last long enough as far as I know.

When these types of semi perm dyes are sold into the UK they have to comply with EU regulations on how long they last unopened and how long they last once opened, and unfortunately BAF Yellow does not last as long as it has to in order to be imported into the UK and to comply with these regulations.  Special Effects have confirmed to us that this dye does not last as long as the others in the range and we therefore cannot import it into this country and in turn cannot sell it on our website.  All other dyes they make last the required 30 months shelf-life and 12 months once opened without any adverse reactions to the hair (always stir/mix dyes before use if they have been left for long periods of time and keep dye away from heat/extreme cold/sunlight etc when stored)

The following page in the gallery shows all alternative yellows which are available in the UK:

(There may be others but these are the ones from Special Effects, Manic Panic, Directions, Stargazer and Crazy Colors)

I had one ages ago and it went a mustardy colour so I did not use it as did not want to risk mustard coloured hair.

We cant speak for any other website or ebay sellers so cant comment on why they are selling this colour, but we cant legally bring it into this country as Special Effects have confirmed it does not last very long at all (either sealed or once opened) and as others have said it can go off-colour fairly quickly.  I wish we could sell it as it was a good colour, but all the dyes we sell have to comply with these EU rules and unfortunately this one colour does not πŸ™

Does this also apply to Electric Sunshine (manic panic)?

In fact, not many places sell that. πŸ™

Electric Banana's good, but a bit too neon for me sometimes. What other yellows can anyone recommend?

Manic Panic had discontinued Elecric Sunshine when we started stocking the dyes a few years back and I would be wary of buying any you see now as it must be very old stock indeed.  Granted these dyes can last for ages but the older the dye the more chance of unexpected colour results and often the weaker the dye/less time it will last on the hair.  You can see some yellow shades together here: Yellow Hair Dye Swatches and remember you can mix colours together to create the right shade for you.  All yellow photos can be seen here: Yellow Hair Dye Photos.  Hope this helps πŸ™‚
