Hi guys,
Haven't been here in a while, hope all of you lovely people have been well!
Need to restock my hair dye shelf pretty soon and am about to place an order on Beeunique in the next few days... Been combing through this forum and I'm still not sure which blue to go for!
A mix of Directions Neon Blue and Atlantic Blue seem to be a popular choice, but I'm still not sure whether my hair likes Directions or not. SFX has always been my go to brand and it always works great for me. Been wanting to get my hands on some SFX Blue Mayhem as I've heard lots of good things about it, does anybody have any experience with this color?
BUT since it won't be in stock for another couple weeks at least ( it's not really that urgent that I place an order, I'm just impatient and want to play around with colors π however if you think waiting for Blue Mayhem is best I'll try to be patient! ), I was thinking of going for Blue Haired Freak ( which should be in stock this week ) mixed with some Blue Velvet that I already have.
I usually use diluted SFX Blue Velvet, which I love, although there is a little too much purple in it, I do prefer a slightly purple fade to a green one ( on that note, is Blue Haired Freaked green based? If it is, mixing it with Blue Velvet might make a nice shade!).
But I want to mix it up a little up, and actually use undiluted dyes for once to see if it makes any difference as far as staying power. Was hoping to just stick Blue Mayhem straight from the tub on my hair.
Okaaay this was very long, as usual. Try as I might I can never ask a simple question, always gotta drone on and on! π
Thanks in advance for your help
I had SFX blue mayhem for about 4 months. I really loved it, I was redying every 2/3 weeks but that was before I discovered CO washing or sulfate free shampoo. It fades to a nice deep purple too, but I think it starts off bluer/brighter than after midnight blue. I've attached pictures of it fresh on + about 3 weeks faded.
That's a really pretty blue! Thanks for your input and for posting pics, it really helps. Although it doesn't look that much different from my own diluted Blue Velvet ( same fade too, although mine is slightly less purple strangely enough ) so I'm as confused as ever! I think I will give it a try and see how I go. π
I've used both Blue Mayhem and Blue Velvet - BV was for me a deeper and more intense or vibrant purple-blue (some people actually saw it as purple) while BM was a royal blue-blue that became purple-er as it faded.
Thanks Tabitha! π Think I will give Blue Mayhem a try!
