What will take on this base?

I'm deeply underwhelmed by my bleaching efforts from yesterday.  Completely failed to get an ombre effect - turns out its damn difficult to back-comb coconut-oil-saturated hair  ;D  or maybe I'm just rubbish at it.
But hey it's my first time    πŸ˜›

Anyway!

Here is what my hair looks like now:

My ultimate goal is a turquoise and purple combo.  I think it's a bit dark for turq at the moment, so I'll give it a few weeks' rest before I wander into the world of bleach bathing and toning.
In the meantime, what will cover this delightful shade of ginger?

Dyes I currently have:
Old Directions Atlantic Blue, also about a teaspoon of old Turq
Adore Aquamarine, African Violet, and Indigo Blue.

Will the Adore African Violet take on this?
I'm going into town tomorrow where I believe there's a market stall that sells Directions dyes, so I could get something else.  Maybe some sort of fiery reddy-orange?

Recommendations please?  *stars*

There's also the option of leaving it as it is for now, I'll be spending the next 2-3 weeks with it mostly tied up for work anyway.

I think African violet should take over that. It will be a little dark but it should work. I also think indigo blue would work in a dark teal kind of way. Strand test!

A dark pink would look awesome over that - Rose Red or maybe Tulip.

Anything reddish would work on that base, a magenta, to red to orange gradient would look great.
Something like Rose Red or cerise would be nice and vibrant too, you could mix it with your blues and do a blue to purple to pink gradient.

African Violet should work over this base. Or like other people already said, anything pink (unless you would want a very light pink) or red based...

I've decided to leave it as it is for now.  I like the idea of a magenta/red/orange gradient but am not quite brave enough to try at the moment.  Plus I don't want complaints from the oil rig I'll be staying on for the next couple of weeks if I get dye on the sheets/towels.  ;D

I'll give it a bleach bath in a few weeks' time and see where I feel like going from there.

Thanks  πŸ™‚

Hello again! I've been wondering about Directions Rubine - apparently it can stick on unbleached hair as well?
Any idea what sort of shades I'd get if I slapped it on now?

On your whole head, unbleached section included you mean? My guess is that you'd get a dark red on your base, and brighter red of course on your bleached ends... something close to the picture I attached (couldn't post it because the link has caplocks in it)
in her blog, the girl in this picture says she has used Dark Tulip. It's not too far away from Rubine so...

I think Rubine would look nice, I used it a lot on my daughter when we couldn't bleach her re-growth (she has a scalp condition) and it lasted well on her natural colour. She is a light brown/dark blonde naturally though, not as dark as you.
I think you will get a deep burgundy on the brown and a brighter shade on the bleached part. Rubine fades much pinker than it starts out, so i think it would be magenta after a couple of washes.

Yes I did mean whole head (sorry for being vague)
Wondering if it's worth a try to stave off the temptation to re-bleach it too soon. I suppose if it fades pinkish I could slap some blue on to take it towards purple πŸ™‚

IF the market stall in town has it of course ....

(edit)
Woop woop, she had Rubine in stock  πŸ™‚  also grabbed a Neon Blue for (possibly) mixing purposes.  Plus you can never have too much blue, right?

Rubine did its job, results here  πŸ™‚  thanks for the recommendations

My ginger is now sort of deep raspberry.  For the moment ......

Not really worth starting a new thread, but if I dilute Directions Neon Blue, can I drag this towards purple or will it go muddy brown? ...

Thanks all  πŸ™‚

Still waiting to get a better picture but I'm on night shift now for a fortnight so chances are slim lol.

In the meantime here's a shot after 2 washes, in harsh indoor lighting:

Kind of puts me in mind of chocolate cherry cake  πŸ˜›  but with orangey undertones that I may be imagining more than seeing tbh.

I'll try to fade it more first but this is what it is now.

I think it should pull it towards purple, try a strand test first πŸ™‚

Welllllll, fingers crossed.  I WAS just going to do a strand test but then I though meh, what the hell  πŸ˜›
Damp hair, neat dye.  Just a little bit combed in  (I shook the tub and used what stayed in the lid)  looks like it'll take it to a pinky-purple but we'll see.  Not going to leave it on for long either, no more than an hour.

Jack Daniels had nothing to do with this decision.
