What to do, what to do...

So I've managed to fade my color from this:

To this, doing 2 bleach powder + shampoo + olive/coconut oil treatments:

And here are my freshly bleached roots:

I am stuck as to where to go from here. My goal is to use Nirvel ArtX Nutre Color in Grey, it's a very dark, more neutral grey that doesn't go green or blue over blondes, it's more of like a cool/neutral looking brown base. But I figured this pink is too luminous for that right now, plus I may as well play around with some pastels while I'm here. I just don't know what I should do!

I was thinking of putting a pale lilac toner over all of it (Wicked Pixie's suggestion <3), making my roots more lilacy, blending that down into the pink a little, but I'm not sure what it would look like over the bulk of my hair, that light peachy kinda baby pink. Would it go muddy or gross looking at all? I know I can always test strand I just wanted to know what you guys think, if anyone has experience or advice playing around with peachy pinks

I also was thinking of trying to tone down the  pastel neonness of it a bit, would putting the lilac over that help? Or putting on a very, very pale green toner over those areas? Do you think the sun will help tone down the neonness of it?

Idk I'm very open to ideas, I just want to keep it as light as possible and would like to avoid adding any more pink to it, or any red/orange/yellow.

Thanks for reading, any help/ideas are greatly appreciated  πŸ™‚

Ok - apart from the silver highlights idea - what about some strategically placed strands of baby blue / turquoise? I'm really liking the pink / blue combo at the moment and still considering that as my next move.

It may depend on what base colour you need for the grey to work? That may determine what tones you put in it now.

Edited to add: I've just been rummaging on pinterest and found an awesome pic of long pink braid same colour as yours but with the bottom quarter dip dyed pale blue. Looks awesome! If you want I'll see if I can share the pic?

I can't be much help either, but I love that you're going to play around a bit with what you've got now, before doing the ArtX grey... and I just can't wait to see what you come up with!

And of course, as was already mentioned, you won't want to put anything in that will affect the grey dye you want to use.  I do like the lilac idea with the pink, I think it would compliment the shade you've got - can you just put the lilac into the root area I wonder... that's probably a challenge!

Well, I did 4 strand tests:
-one with Pravana Violet allover the stran
- one with it just on the roots, fading into the pink
-one with Pravana Green allover with Pravana Violet on the roots and ends
-one with Pravana Green just on the pink, with Pravana Violet on the roots and a little on the ends.

They're all looking cool, but after I rinse and dry them I'll post pictures of the results.

By the way, Pravana Green diluted makes a beautiful, beautiful pastel turquoise color. So pretty!

@Swilks haha, yes I have a ton of pink hair photos on my pinterest! Which one did you fall inlove with? And thank you, I'm totally loving this fading treatment! Before, I thought I was just being naively optimistic thinking I could get that Atomic Pink faded enough to go silver lol. It leaves my hair dry like any other fading treatment does, but not nearly as dry as with vitamin c.I haven't noticed any damage yet from them , I haven't been using any silicones, but I definitely will keep that thread updated in case any damage pops up from it. I'm really doubting it though πŸ™‚

It's hard to tell with the dye still on them, I may just go for the allover lilac toner first. At least now I know I can add the green to the pink with some violet on areas and get a nice starting point to put the grey over!

I'm so excited for you!

I liked the pink with blue root retouch, but I doubt I could handle the tricolour when my roots come in!

@Swilks oh I know the exact one you're talking about, I love that!

Alrighty, here are the test strands!

1.Pravana Green only on the pink with Pravana Violet on roots and ends
2.Pravana Green and Violet allover
3.Pravana Violet just on the roots, fading down a little
4. Pravana Violet allover

Idk what do you guys think? I was thinking going #4, then before I go silver do #2?

I really like the combination of all of them, haha! I immediately thought of a scattered mix of all these strands, like highlights and lowlights, multi-tonal and so cool! But, I know that's quite a lot of work haha, so in that case I'd say #1. Because I think that will turn out differently on every strand and maybe give that same multi-tonalness. You could even vary where the green blends into the violet?

Ha, this was just a stream of consciousness, your hair got me enthusiastic!

Nr 1! Most likely it will go multitone and that's awesome!

Well I went with #4 and I'm only leaving it on for a half hour so it will fade quicker. I do still really like #1 and 2, and I'd like to try at least one before going grey. I could just slap diluted green on allover to get to #2, or if I want #1 just let this fade out first then go for it. Or I may do streaks too, I love that idea! I'll keep you guys posted on how this goes πŸ™‚

I want to see pictures too!  I'm too late to suggest, but I also loved a scattered mix of them all, although I have no idea what base it would leave you.  Can't wait to see the finished product of Choice No 4!
