I might be wrong, but I'd guess the bottom one is photoshopped, so it's not possible to really replicate.
I don't think there is a dusty pink dye out there. Not that I've come across anyway. I'd say you need a non-neon pink and add a teensy bit of a purple based blue.
there is a thread on here about rose gold color and if I remember correctly the girls hair turned out like this, if I can find the thread I will edit my post and add it in!
I find it funny that it's being called rose gold. To me rose gold is far more copperish.
I agree if anything this to me looks more cool toned dark pastel pink. I haven't been able to find the thread yet...
edit- im sorry, I put the name wrong, it was not rose gold, it was under dusty rose, my apologies (im at work and was trying to multi task, lol) but here is the link, now it is definitely darker than the pictures you showed, but im sure there would be a way to lighten it to a more pastel version, also I think the lighting in this picture is a little dark, so her actual color could be much lighter, but she only posted 1 pic.
In the 80s it was always called dusty or dusky pink! And yes, definitely cool toned.
I have no recollection of which thread it was unfortunately.
This is not Rose Gold.
You can get this colour (I would call it mauve) by using a pinky purple dye on a slightly warm blonde base.
If the hair is already fully bleached to a level 10 adding some red based orange to a lilac dye will get this type of muted pink.
With pastels the base colour will affect the outcome quite strongly, so if you could add a pic of your bae it would really help
Hopefully my hyper link came through on my last post, I modified it to add the link to the dusty pink color, if not its the first post in the colors section under pink.
(I would call it mauve)
Interesting. Looks nothing like mauve to me, it's way too pink. It's so hard to know though, people have varying ideas of names of colours.
People have been calling this rose gold though. Gives me a slight jolt each time lol
Thanks guys xx
I have found this brand that my hairdresser uses (yes I stalked her page 😂) what do you think about these?
Could you add the darker to the lighter to make it deeper or would the colour be totally wrong? And I could end up with green or something strange in my hair?
I guess you could, I don't think the pink would make a dent in the darker colour though (that's what I would call closer to mauve incidentally!).
It'd also be the expensive way of doing it. Those pastel dyes never dye as well as they should, or much darker. Buying direct dyes and diluting them means you have loads left for next time and much more control.
Hmmm...bottom row, middle pic - diluted Stargazer Magenta, but no idea of what her base was.
Ohhh that's pretty π
Thanks guys for your help xxx
My hair is turning this color. I used MP cleo rose and as its fading I have been washing the ends with purple shampoo.
