Hello I've been wanting to dye my hair like this for quite a while but I'm quite sure on how to achieve this color. I currently have dyed dark brown hair which is a bit too dark for me so I wanted this kind of color.
Any ideas what color or how to get it like this ?
Thanks
I guess a bleach bath (or maybe two) would get you to this color... how long since you dyed your hair the last time? was it a permanent or a semi-permanent dye?

Quite recently actually, but I just wanted to know for future references, the dye was permanent I think. I want to avoid bleaching my hair at all cost, but if that's the only way to get this color then it will be crossed of my list lol.
Well what is your natural colour? It's hard to say if you'll need bleach! However, a bleach bath is less harsh than bleach alone. It's about the same as using a permanent dye (even dark ones have peroxide which is damaging).
But I would suggest a colour remover first, not bleach baths. Then it depends what your natural colour is.

My natural hair color is dark black. Problem is that putting any color on my dark black hair will still turn out very dark. Any ideas what would happen if I put light brown dye over my dark brown?
If you you currently have a brown, then it's possible you'll have a dark ginger under that anyway. Permanent dyes, as I say, damage hair as well. This is because it's actually bleaching your hair as well as putting colour on. The only difference with bleach, essentially, is you're not adding colour. So, under the dye you have now, it's possible your hair is lightened to that colour that you desire. If you use a colour remover (which you can use up to three times and is non damaging, unlike a dye or bleach) to remove the colour added by the dye then you would almost certainly be at least part of the way to that colour.
That would definitely be my first suggestion before using any other dye. To get that colour though, you will have to use something that will lighten your hair. Be it a hair dye that is lighter than your own hair or bleach, it will be damaging in the same way, so don't discount bleach. The plus point of using bleach is you can determine just how strong it is. In hair dyes there's no way of knowing what volume the peroxide is. In many dyes it's up to 40vol and ends up damaging more than it needs to.
