Which brand do you think these colours come from ?
The aqua colour 🙂

The top one looks like the old manic panic atomic turquoise. The formula on it was changed recently (possibly for the EU only though as many blues in several ranges have been changed recently) and it's now darker. It would probably dilute to this turquoise still though.

Middle one, not sure. It looks a bit more like slightly faded crazy colour bubble gum blue which is a slightly truer blue. Here's glitterpix with bubblegum blue http://www.hairdyeforum.com/index.php?topic=7555.0 I think it's changed since it was released though. The first bottle of bubblegum was purple when it was straight out the bottle, but now it's definitely blue. I've not used it alone, so I can't say how much different it is now!

The bottom one is a wig, so probably isn't a direct dye we can buy. It looks a bit like I remember fishbowl from special effects looking though. Slightly greener than manic panic atomic turquoise. I've not used it in years and years though.

Beware of most turquoises though, they do have a habit of staining these days since the formula changes, even when diluted.

Thank you Janineb.
I saw the crazy colour last week in Queensland and yes it was a blue over here too 🙁
Might try manic panic and hope they have not changed the colour in Australia,
Do you think it would be OK to put over the silver in my hair (faded mp lilac and pink) or should I wait until it washes out??
Thank you for your help lovely xx

It would be a fine colour over silver, but it would likely tone out some of the yellow making it a more proper blue.

If you're worried about atomic turquoise, dilute it first as its really just a lot darker rather than a different colour. The old formula is a lovely colour when diluted.

I diluted directions turquoise for this colour, only they have also changed the formula and the last batch of turq I tried (undiluted) was /very/ dark and more green than blue. But this was my result (with the old formula) : http://www.hairdyeforum.com/index.php/topic,13545.0.html

I haven't tried to dilute directions turq with the new formula, though. I'd say any of the dyes mentioned (dilute the stronger colours first!) it is fine over your silver fade.

I was going to mention Directions turquoise, but decided against it as the new one is so much more green. 🙂

Omg LOVE that colour on you!! It's gorgeous!
I went and got MP ATOMIC turquoise ? And Cotton candy pink and will try that one first and yes it is very blue not like the more Aqua my daughter had gotten a couple years back 🙁 but will dilute it lots and see what happens .
I've not seen directions sold in shops In Australia but I'm sure I can get it off the net.
Thanks lovely and that colour is just stunning ❤️

Janine, You have a point of course, I just had to mention it because old turq would have done the job and who knows when they'll change the formula again! If it had to do with EU regulations, though, it will probably not be the same again. The only thing that stayed and ramped up a bit even is the staying power. Even on unbleached hair, the (undiluted) turq didn't go away until a month of regular shampoo washes. 😮 It's such a shame as the old turq was already clingy, but a way nicer colour.

I'd say go with bubblegum, but then again, my hair doesn't take MP dyes well and SFX has issues with availability.

And thanks! 🙂 My hair was pretty much dead back then though, I'm staying around the same range of colours nowadays so I only have to bleach my roots.

Manic panic turquoise is one manic panic that I actually rate, but it sticks like no ones business. Just like directions. I can't swear to it, but I'm sure I read somewhere that it is EU regs with something that was, or wasn't, in the blue dyes and that's why so many of the blues, or blue based colours, changed. That's why so many are so much more sticky now. Maybe. Like I say, I don't remember for sure... I think it was someone like Scott cornwall said it on here, or something in connection to it. I dint know lol it's not really a major issue, but it would then then change my suggestions depending on where Australia gets their supply from, USA or UK/Europe. That's the hardest thing to know!

Just doing new batches affects the colour, as we've seen so much recently with special effects. So changing the formula is bound to change the colour.

Adore Aquamarine dilutes to a similar shade, blue toned rather than green, and doesn't stain like other turquoise shades IME

I tried a test bit... Yep right in front of my head lol!
After less than 5 mins this is the result, think I'll try doing it all and add the cotton candy pink on ends.
Only hair right 😂
