Washing rainbow hair?

So I'm going to do rainbow hair in February for my birthday (YAY) and I need to make sure I know what I'm doing first! For my rainbow, I'm doing a gradual fade in colours all over, rather than a streak of each colour. Now I need to know how to wash it without the colours all bleeding in as much as possible... I already know to wash it in cold water as I do that with my current blue hair with purple fringe, but it does still bleed. I will be using Directions dye because I like it and am familiar with it so please help guys πŸ™‚

Thank you πŸ˜€

I diluted dyes ti help prevent running/run off. Conditioner only washing & vinegar rinses have also been massively helpful for my rainbow trips

I don't do anything special with mine besides using color treated friend shampoo and conditioner and rinsing with cold water. I recently have gotten in the habit of doing a pre-poo which isn't color friendly at all πŸ™
