Wanting to add a splash of color but what will it look like grown out?

Hi friends!

So I am thinking about adding a bit of color to my life as my hair has been back to its natural beauty for too long.
I was thinking of maybe adding some color around my face however I am currently growing my hair out & I'm not sure how it will look as it grows out. My hair is just above shoulder length right now. I'm not interested in rebleaching my roots every time it grows out. This picture is similar to what I would like to do:

Do you think I could get away with letting it grow & not redoing my roots? Would that look terrible? Or should I go with a different approach & add color somewhere else?

I think that would look really cute as it grew out. you can't really see where the coloured part starts because other hair falls over it anyway.

My green bit is on the underside of my hair at the front and I haven't done the roots for months! When it's down it looks really nice coz you only see the coloured part anyway! Then when it's up the roots are a similar colour to the rest of my hair so you don't see the green til the actual ponytail or bun so it looks fine too! I think you should go for it!

Roots aren't really a big thing anymore. In fact, I'd actually say it's "trendy" to have roots! So I think it'll look fine.

roots, you either love them or you hate them, lol. I'm learning to love mine because I am lazy and don't feel like bleaching every 4 weeks! I have found many hairstyles where roots showing are 100% intentional, its definitely an up and coming trend.

Actually yeah, one of my friends deliberately keeps 3" long roots in her silver blonde hair and it looks really cool! (it actually suits her better than having it light to the root as she is very fair skinned so it breaks things up a bit)

Ugh yes that is my exact problem at the moment, I was tan earlier in the summer and Ive lost most of my tan since Ive been stuck working crazy hours lately, so I think I'm going to take my hair a few shades darker from its current platinum status and do some lowlights just to break things up a bit, or ive been toying with the idea of black/deep brown roots with a burgundy ombre, decisions, decisions lol. I like going from 1 extreme to the other

lol, I love autumn too, the colors and the weather, everything about it makes me happy  *lovestars* I think I'm definitely going to do the burgundy color, I'm still debating the black roots for the ombre, it will probably be a last minute decision when I go to the store to pick up the color  *yay*
