Currently my hair is pink all over (Diluted Directions Cerise & Stargazer Magenta) I'm just wondering when it fades would I be able to put a blue over some of it? I don't want it all blue, I just want a few slices. If so how faded would it have to be? & would any of these blues be suitable? SFX Blue Haired Freak, Blue Mayhem or Eletric Blue? I did have my eye on MP Rockabilly Blue but I'm sure I've read somewhere it transfers quite a lot.
A bright, saturated blue would cover faded pink, pale washy blues would go purple. I've covered carnation pink with directions turquoise (old formula) before with no problems. I can't remember which out of the sfx blues is the strongest but I would go with the most pigmented one to decrease the chance of getting purple.
Ah great, I've got a lot of fading to go yet but atleast I know it's not a complete no go, I'll look into what blue is most pigmented. Thanks for that π
Blue Velvet is highly highly pigmented, but very dark and purple-toned. I love it though, and it will cover anything pretty much! Blue Mayhem is lighter in colour, but still a good darkish blue, and also very pigmented. (I've not tried the others.)
am i right in saying if you put turquoise over pink it goes blue? I know technically you can't mix blue as its a primary colour, but for some reason i thought it was the case???
It depends on what the pink is and what the turquoise is, but yes, sometimes the pink will neutralise the green in the turquoise and it will come out bluer. It might come out purple though.

Ahh, glad it has some truth in it and i am not going mad!!

I put old-formula turquoise over a icy-pastelish pink and it went a pretty true aqua, so yeah, it goes more blue, less teal π
