Using ColourB4 on Directions Plum

Heya,

I recently decided to go back to purple, after a year of trying different colours. The last colour I went was black and I managed to remove this using ColourB4 and my hair went a medium brown,  as beneath the black my hair was previously orange.

I mistakenly decided to give Directions Plum another go (the last time I used it my hair went bright blue) and now my hair is jet black :/. Before I ever started bleaching I always used to use Directions Plum or SFX Pimpin Purple on my natural colour, and would get a lovely result, and I'm so surprised at the black result from plum! Now will the ColourB4 actually work on directions? I've washed my hair a few times with anti dandruff shampoo and it's barely done anything. I really don't want to bleach as I had to get most of my hair cut off this year and it's finally growing now!

Thanks in advance,
Justine

Unfortunately Directions changed the formula of Plum, so the blue tones and blue fade that is really hard to shift are now normal. I have a feeling that it may go green with a colour remover, it does when bleached. So I would try it on a strand test before committing to a whole head.

I thought they had, but when I messaged LaRiche when my hair went bright blue they said nothing had changed, so they basically lied to me. If it does go green then I will have to colour red before applying the purple, as I had this problem last time when getting the blue out and my hairdressers put red on. So far I've not seen any blue tones tho. Just black and when I hold strands up to the light it looks purple.

If you do end up with a turquoise, put directions rose red on and it will turn a pinky purple, the shade in my profile picture. Or if that's not the shade of purple your looking for, it will be much easier to get to a richer deeper purple from a pinky purple base.

Oh i do like your colour, so may try that. I have already ordered some SFX pimpin purple, I used to go between that and plum when it wasn't available. That is quite pink based so I should be OK πŸ™‚

I used Directions Plum a while back and part of my hair is now permanently blue (after bleaching). I found that it goes a gorgeous deep and virbant purple if you put some Directions Dark Tulip or Rubine over the top, or a mix of the two.

Good luck getting the shade you want!
