So I have naturally dark brown hair (Im Filipino and Panamanian). Today I decided I wanted to bleach my hair and dye it gray at home. I bleached it and toned it, using purple shampoos in between. I finally applied the dye, a mixture of the semi-permanent ion colors, titanium and smoky amethyst. When my hair was all dry and done, I looked only to find some murky grayish blondish. And not a cute ash blonde. Despite the toner, there are still some spots of brassy blonde tones within the murky gray. Its probably because I only bleached it once instead of bleaching it a couple times over the course of two weeks before dyeing. I want it to look more silvery/gray, not this muddy mess. What do i do??? Should I dye over it more with the gray/silver, should I apply more toner? Or should I continue to use my purple shampoo and it will tone over time? Not sure.
What colour was it when you dyed it? Sounds like it's too dark for a silvery grey. It has to be very pale yellow to go silver.

I had bleached it only once and toned it, so it was a light sort of custard yellow. Thats probably the problem. I just want to know what i should do to eliminate the yellow splotches. Just toner?
To be able to help we need details of the colour it is, that's why I ask π
Custard yellow is far too dark to allow you to get a silver grey, even a dark grey would be hard. You need to lighten it to a very pale yellow. Then you can tone it.
I wouldn't advise you to bleach it again for another month though, you need to make sure your hair isn't too damaged to allow another bleaching. Damage doesn't always show for several weeks. Also, you should use a bleach bath rather than a full bleach. Search for bleach bath on this forum and look for the tutorial.

What would happen if I scrapped it and dyed over with a darker color (not gray)? If I wanted to go with a blue color, perhaps indigo (or the closest thing I can find) would that mix with the undertones of this muddy gray and look worse? I just want to still have a fun color in my hair, but worst case scenario I will dye it back to dark brown.
Sorry, indigo wouldnt exactly be "darker" but probably brighter and more vivid than the muted gray I have now.
Finally it let me add a picture! Heres the color. Im embarassed.

A purple would go well over that. Blue would struggle on the more orange parts and would look ugly.
