Topping up your dye!

So I knew that mixing your dye with conditioner was a great way to top up your colour and get rid of any fade, but I had never actually tried it until the other day!

So this was my hair after 2 weeks of flamingo pink:

ignore the no makeup pics haha! i look very rough :S

So I had 1/4 a pot of flamingo pink left from dying my extensions. I chucked this in a pot and mixed in 3/4 worth of Aussie 3min miracle conditioner. I then washed my hair as it needed a good clean, then whacked on the conditioner for a good hour. I did my hair quite late in the night and would have left it on longer if I had time.

I then washed it off and dried and was left with this:

annnd in this pic ignore my split ends/general bad condition of hair haha i need it cutting soooo bad.

As you can see though its deffo topped up the dye and I have LOOADS of the conditioner mix left for applications in the future πŸ™‚

The only thing was it was quite runny while on my head as it was on wet hair. Has anyone done this on dry hair? What were the results?

Wow : ] I tried this last night on my Red hair and it works a treat. I did it on damp hair and left it for about an hour.
Really recommend it! No more buying lots of dye  :]

I thought I would mention that any diluted dye mix will tend to fade quicker than normal so although it's great for a quick top-up you would normally need to do re-do the colour more often.

Thanks for posting the pics is great to see how well it works with Flamingo Pink - very nice πŸ™‚
....and I wish I looked as 'rough' as you with no make-up on!!  You look great!

That's why I just pour dye into my conditioner and mix it all up--puts a little colour in each time I wash, so I don't have to sit with dye/conditioner on my head for hours at a time πŸ™‚

I do this all the time when I re-do my roots. Otherwise I have a red line and an orange line that fades to gold. Just helps my hair look less like I've just redone my roots.
