Last week I mixed a toner using pravana silver, directions purple and conditioner. *boo*
The overall colour of my hair is now beautiful but for some reason, the parts on the left and right of my scalps (see pic) have grabbed really vbluey/purpley *ott*
If I use a clarifying shampoo, will it help tone it down? I've bought the pantene one from Tesco. I'm a bridesmaid next week and I have some affinage infiniti onyx grey hair dye on the way which I want to use before then
Yes, a clarifying shampoo should get rid of that easily.
One wash has faded it dramatically! Going to do it again tonight so I can use this beauty on it (the silver)
Is that an oxidative dye? if so I wouldnt be too worried about fading the old colour totally out
I don't know what oxidative means!! I have to mix it with peroxide so yes?!?!
Yes that is exactly what oxidative means, it is activated by peroxide.
Can't wait to see how it turns out
Arghhh! This one has grabbed purple too. I used 6% developer even though it said to use 3%- would that make a difference to the colour? I only left it on twenty minutes. Beginning to panic I won't get to the right shade by Wednesday!!! I might just sack it all off and go pastel pink................
How light was your base? With those types of toners you often only have to leave them on a few minutes, and yes using peroxide that was twice as strong as needed will have made a difference.
Super light, pretty much platinum!
I wonder if there wasn't enough yellow in your base? Does it specify on the packaging what level to lighten to beforehand?
Yeah, that would be my guess as well.
