In my experience...

Directions rose red
Dark magenta (VERY transfery) > Magenta/red > a nice pink within 3 weeks

Directions pillarbox red
Blood red > bright red > mucky orange

Directions Neon Blue
Dark Purpley blue (very transfery) > bright blue > light blue. Best lasting/nicest fading blue I've used. Catches the light amazingly.

Directions lilac
Mid lilac > light lilac > baby pink

Directions Apricot
Orange - pale orange - gross light orange (but I don't think my hair was light enough underneath.)

Directions lavender
Lavender > pale lavender > silvery grey

Directions flamingo pink
Bright pink/magenta > pink > orangey pink/baby pink depending on hair underneath.

Directions Midnight Blue
Navy (very transfery) > royal blue > Teal> mucky turquoise. Very fast in my case.

I would love a blue that actually fades to baby blue!  Unfortunately I don't believe Directions is available where I live.  Someone here on the boards said that Directions is called Punky Colours (which is available in my area) overseas, but alas I can't find Neon Blue at the store or on their website.  Rats!

Anyone else have experience with any other dyes that actually fade to baby blue as opposed to purple or green?  Another question:  If I were to mix a purple-basetone blue and a green-basetone blue together, I wonder how it would fade? (0_o)  A possibly disastrous experiment I'm tempted to do...

To get the blue to fade to a baby blue your hair needs to be the right base colour first. For example, it will have to be light enough that you could dye it baby blue fine.

this is what crazy colors cyclamen fades too: partly it's just pastel pink, partly it's pastel apricot:

Stargazer Dawn - actually starts out orange and stays that way! I've just dyed over it after a  few weeks of  having it and it just faded to a pale orange.

Sadly it faded quickly but the dregs stuck around all this time!

I know theres a directions plum but mine faded differently

went from a gorgeous deep plum to a gorgeous magenta into a weird browny colour, (even though I bleached it first)

Those dyes are all Directions:
Rose Red (over an orange base) started dark pink -> bright pink -> orange/pink/red, kinda like autumn leaves, i loved it!
Atlantic Blue (over uneven, slightly yellow base) started dark blue -> bright blue -> pastel blue with pastel green sections, very pretty 🙂
Neon Blue (light blonde base) started dark blue -> bright blue -> light blue, no green tones
Carnation Pink (same base as above) started kinda bright pink -> pastel pink -> pastel pink with orange undertones
Apple Green (light blonde base) started dark green -> light green -> yellow-ish neon green
Mandarin (same base as it was a rainbow with the following colours) started bright orange and went lighter
Bright Daffodil started as a bright yellow and went lighter and finally blonde again
Pillarbox Red is really bright red and turns pink as it fades, when i tried to bleach it out it turned a pastel version of highlighter pink 😀
Violet was purple at first and went gray quickly :/

Hi

Can anyone tell me how long the Hi-octane orange lasts and what it fades to?  I couldnt spot it in the different lists.

Im trying to decide whether to go Napalm Orange or Hi-octane.  From what I can see Napalm lasts a fair time and fades to yellow.

Napalm does fade to a golden yellow colour, mine's doing that very slightly after several weeks of hanging around. It certainly has staying power! I can't say for Hi-Octane coz I've never used it but Napalm is awesome.

Hey Mathurine

How often do you wash your hair?  Do u do anything special to help the dye last?

I generally wash my hair about twice a week.

Because I have dreads I wash my hair once a month, if that and I use a very colour stripping shampoo because it's good for my dreads. So far I've washed my hair three times since I dyed it and there's very little, if any colour loss.

Directions Flamingo Pink > Baby Pink (A pastel colour)

I hate ittttt.

Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink Amplified - Has mainly stayed very very pink in my hair except the ends which have gone a tad orange...

Both Amplified Manic Panic:
...Ultra Violet- fades to blue, then old-lady gray.

The same happened when I used both products above^^

Crazy Color Fire > It didn't really fade on me, just went a bit darker but once topped up with half a bottle it goes back bright again.

hi! quick question coz i don't want to start a new thread - MP Enchanted Forest, does it fade minty? like this colour/bit paler?

would it work mixing it with toner? I'm just a bit worried about purple toner + green dye = odd brown.
