Strange Porosity problem

Been colouring my hair brightly for a long time now, never really had any issues normally the advice i need is if i need to change colour suggestions on which to go for.

But all of a sudden i have a strange issue with the porosity of my hair, pretty much out of nowhere after the first 2-3 inches of the virgin part of my hair it has strangely become extremely porous, very odd since I've been in the reds now for quite sometime and its not been stripped or bleach/bathed for a fair while now and this has pretty much just randomly started. I put my dye on, even with Special Effects reds and rinse its not to bad then, but even after one wash very gently even without shampoo and just conditioner in cold water everything after the first few inches the colour just leeches right out, very dramatically, I've never had anything like it?!? Colour just won't stay in and i hate wishy washy red!

anyone have any ideas on something to help do something to help correct the weird porous tantrum my hair is having? its currently covered in coconut oil and has been for a day, don't know if its going to do anything but i have to try something!

Any help i'd be really grateful xx

Beck x

What processing has the problem section of hair been through? It could just be bleach damage, it can show up months after the hair has actually been through the processing. A protein based reconstructor can really help in these situations.

Yeah it's just been lightened with bleach, have my roots done every 5 weeks, just seemed strange as I've not touched the lengths in such a long time, it seemed to come out of nowhere?

Any suggestions on a particular product??

Thanks

It could just be environmental damage on top of bleach damage. Hair getting hot, cold, brushed, whipped around in the wind, brushing against fabric blah blah everything damages hair slowly. Maybe one section of roots was bleached more harshly because it was hot or something and now it's at the ends it's not held up well to environmental damage.

I would get a bigger trim than normal and use kpak.

Thanks Janine

Ive just had a good 3" chopped off, I've had coconut oil on for a couple of days, now i have an Osmo intensive one on all day, i'm off to look for the Kpak see what thats can do to rectify it.

Don't think i can get my head round the thought of going back to brown hair or the like.

I had this problem back last Christmas and it really got to me! It fixed itself out come the following few weeks so i didnt have to give up, but I couldnt tell you what caused it. It was a nightmare. Even Atomic Pink wouldnt take as normal! *ott*

A change in diet or eating habits can sometimes cause changes to your hair.
