I dyed my hair with directions plum last week and since then I've had really bad rub-off on my neck, hands etc. I've tried the vinegar rinse but it hasn't helped. Does anyone know how to remove this staining and/or prevent it ?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Nail polish remover is good for getting rid of the stains but it dries the skin so make sure to moisturise after. As for the rub off, i cant really help as i've never had that problem with any dyes. My hair holds dye very well.

Try using a facial toner on cotton pads, or baby lotion on cotton pads they both have worked for me on plum staining πŸ™‚

Have you tried doing a final rinse in cold water when you wash your hair? That helped me a lot with rose red rub off!

Ugh, hate the Plum rub off!!  Anti-Bac hand gel is great for getting colour off skin though! πŸ™‚

Glad I saw this post as I will be using Plum also! I have no experience removing dye from skin myself, but a friend recommended toothpaste with a bit of baking soda. Sounds abrasive, but I guess it would work. Let us know what worked for you, and good luck!
