I can't work out if Splat is a semi or a permanent? It says the complete kit has a lightening bleach it but would I HAVE to use it if my hair has been bleached and will soak it up? (I think) If it's permanent I don't want to use it and I'll pick one of the other semis in the shop.
Sounds like a kit to pre-lighten hair and then put the semi on it. You don't need a kit, just the semi dye, unless you want to do your roots.
No it's just a top up colour for going over a red that/s faded after only 2 weeks and about 3 washes! I was just looking for something that I can pop in for 5 minutes once a week to keep it fresh because I have lovely red at the top and more of a salmon pink at the ends at the moment :
The dye is a semi, you don't need to use the included bleach if your hair is already light. The Splat dyes tend to be really bad so I wouldn't bother unless you can't get anything else. My friend used to always try to use the red and wound up with patchy pink and red every time.
Yeah, either buy the semi alone or use the bleach at a later time. I'd just buy the semi though, bleach in kits is a more expensive way of doing it normally. And as spooki says, Splat isn't good. Just get a dye from Beeunique!
I was going to order from beeunique but it's my birthday tomorrow and I didn't think it would fade this quickly and I don't want to look ridiculous so I've got to pick something up before we go out for a meal that's why I'm having to go to the shop. I might use crazy colors cyclamen....not 100% sure yet but I won't get splat if splat isn't any good.
We were looking into stocking Splat before but there were very mixed reviews about it so decided not to start selling in at that time. if there was a demand for this brand then we would consider adding it when we move to our bigger premises. If you can also get crazy color locally then I would say you may be best with that based on the info i've heard about the two brands π
Ok thank you π I think it will be crazy color out of the 2 now, then I'll look at beeunique again, there's a much better range on there than in the shop but I'm in a pickle lol
Moderator edited post--please don't mention names of our competitors. <Sorry, I hadn't thought!!
If I mixed in a clear shampoo to make it go a little further so that I don't have to do a full head just top up once a week, will this work okay? I didn't want to add conditioner because this makes the colour less intense right? I'm going to strand test anyway because I hadn't coloured my extensions and I'm planning on getting my hair and extensions to perfectly match but I just didn't want to have to full head colour even if it's a semi once a week, too much hassle haha
Mixing with shampoo would be pontless as you'll just wash out what you've added. I *always* dilute my dyes and still get a good few months out of them. I don't find it makes my colours any less intense, as you just add small bits of dye until you have the colour you desire. Also I hope you had a good birthday.
i didn't mind splat--- but i didn't do my whole head, and i used a purple. i feel like purples are pretty forgiving, in general. one thing about it, though-- it was super runny... the consistency of india ink. i'm more accustomed to the wonderful thick awesomeness that is sfx, so application was not easy for me.
Thanks pippa I used conditioner and I don't think the colour has been changed π and my birthday was lovely thank you!
