SFX Blue Mayhem - will leaving on for 2hrs work??

Hi all

I currently have 3 bottles of SFX blue mayhem on my hair (VERY thick, just bleached and didn't use conditioner prior to dying) and had it on an hour now, it's getting dark outside and I wanted to know what the true colour is but worried it'll be dark soon, is 2hrs enough? My hairdresser cousin swears that hair dye stops developing after 30mins anyway but I know people often leave it on overnight!
Don't want to jeopardise the vibrancy by washing it off too early πŸ™‚

true semis like sfx, directions etc don't develop, they are a hair stain, so they won't stop dying your hair after 30mins. So yeah the longer you leave it the more vibrant it will be. I sometimes only leave my dye on an hour if it's a less bright shade I'm after. You could perhaps wash off a section to see if its the shade you want, or wash it all off and if you wanted a deeper result dye it again with blue mayhem

Fab thanks! I knew it wasn't the same as normal dyes but not exactly why, staining makes sense! Will wash it off at 7 as I can see already how bright it is on the parts of my hair the bleach turned White! πŸ™‚

In the future you shouldn't bleach to white. You should bleach to palest yellow and then tone to white. (Pointing it out so other people browsing the forum know that it's not great practice.)

I have found that as long as you have left it on a reasonable length of time, eg a couple of hours not the 15-30 minutes recommended on the bottle, leaving it much longer only really affects the longevity. So if you want it to really last, leave on for as long as you can bear, but two hours should give you a pretty vivid shade.

White is just the colour my hair goes after two bleaches, this was my hair for a long time: (pic 1)

Pic 2 is the gorgeous blue I got tonight!! Will post a better one in daylight tomorrow πŸ™‚

Looks great πŸ™‚

White might be the colour your hair goes after two bleaches... but that still means it's bleached too far. Again, pointing that out for other people that might read this and think it's ok. You can do as you like, that's fine and your choice, but it's never something we'd advise as for most people that is the easily the point their hair will break.

Thanks πŸ™‚
Yeah I understand a lot of women's hair wouldn't take it, I'm just very lucky with mine that it can!

Here's a photo in natural light, such a perfect colour! Gloves gave up half way through so I just carried on, any tips on how to de-smurf my hands before I fly to Iceland tomorrow morning!

Try antibacterial gel handwash or make up remover wipes πŸ™‚
