Roots won't take semi, ugh..

I bleach bathed my roots for 25 minutes with 20vol, that took me to light orange.
Then bleach  bathed them the next day, with a similar mix, conditioner being the majority of the mixture though, which took me to a lighter shade, not siginificantly lighter. Kept the bleach for 20-25 minutes maybe
Then bleached my roots for 15 minutes with pure bleach.

And my roots won't take any of the dye!

I've read lots about it online, some people say to just wait, others say to bleach resistant hair again, I've found katie's advice to soften the hair with pure peroxide... What do I do? πŸ™

I'm thinking of doing a bleach bath 6 days from the last bleachbath.

Any tips and tricks how to make roots take the dye? Thanks!

Firstly, DON'T bleach bath again twice in a week. Even if most of the mix is conditioner.

Secondly, have you tried re dying? What dye is it?

Violet needs a pretty pale base to take well, I once used it over pretty pale yellow hair and it came out gross. Your roots might just not be taking due to being too dark. Try toning them to get some yellow out.

Could be damage too. You bleached three times in a very short period of time. Give your hair a break from bleach or anything with peroxide.
Try out the toning and re dying mentioned above but please no more bleach.

I've only just realised that you did a full bleach AFTER the two bleach baths. Really bad idea and never do that again. You risk chemical burns as well as frying your hair. You never know when it's going to happen, so limiting as many possible problems is one way of reducing either thing happening.

What colour were your roots? Violet does need a very light base, it isn't very forgiving, maybe try using it neat or diluting with shampoo instead of conditioner.
For future reference, you need to wait a week between bleach baths and a whole month after a full bleach before bleaching again. The last thing you want is breakage at the root or scalp burns that can lead to permanent hair loss.

My roots were dark brown. I try using the dye neat, with purple shampoo, without shampoo, it just won't grab in the slightest. It slips from my roots.

Doesn't tone my roots, doesn't dye them, nothing happens,  They remain yellow/golden

Thanks!

Try just waiting a few more days then re-dyeing. Are you applying the dye to clean unconditioned hair?

Yup, although I've tried dying the roots so many times that they have been conditioned as I mix the dye with a conditioner.

I'll wait then, thanks! πŸ™‚

You need to shampoo again before a re-application, preferably with a sulphate based shampoo

Is it alright if I use purple, sulphate based shampoo?>

That might be fine, though a normal shampoo is a better idea. I don't think the purple would be a barrier, but it's possible it would be.
