Protecting your hair from pool water

Okay so I have my hair dyed redish orange with Adore hair color. It had started to fade some and I wanted to do the roots again but thought I would wait a little longer before doing the whole thing again. But I got in my pool for the first time this year and noticed afterwards that my hair had really faded quite a bit. Is their any way to better protect my hair when swimming because I love my red hair but I love to swim too.

I think pretty much everyone on here who swims has a swimming cap to protect their hair.

I also used to shove a load of conditioner with silicones in it on my hair before putting it under the cap to give it an extra layer of protection when I went swimming πŸ™‚

Since using Special effects I've never had an issue myself

I wear a silicone cap that prevents that most of my hair gets wet. It gets wet anyway since it's long and it's hard to fit it under the cap properly, but still it works quite ok. And I generally avoid going underwater with my head, but that's more because I wear contact lenses when I swim.
