Pravana Vivids magenta problems :(

So today I had a client who wanted a few bold slices in a hot pink in her bang area. I lifted her to about a 9, which had a bit of an orange tone so I didnt neutralize (which I think is apart of my problem)

I did about an 1/2 ounce magenta and like.. an 1/8 of pink, because she wanted it a bit lighter than mine (which is straight magenta) and it came out looking pink, but like a dull pink (with a bit of an orange undertone of course) certainly not hot pink

But even with the orange undertone, I dont understand why it came out so dull, because I normally put magenta over my hair right after bleaching (from my natural level 1 so it comes out to like nickelodeon orange) and it looks great.

So my questions are

1. Shes coming back in tomorrow so it can be a more vivid pink, should i just put straight magenta on top, or should i extract whats there and neutralize and than color?

2. what are your formulas for hot pink? (with pravana)

Thanks in advance!

You certainly don't need to strip it. You can use a teeny bit of blue mixed in with the pink to help tone the orange time down. Without seeing what you mean by dull, it's hard to really comment though, but orangey pinks can look on the dull side. A little more purply shade of pink should take it to a brighter colour.

It might just simpily need a few washes! I don't particular like my pinks when they are first done, they go electric after a week lol

Yep, blue is great for keeping true pinks from getting too warm.
