okay, I've beem trying to due my hair the perfect shade of purple for quite some time now and am struggling. I want a purple with more red in it than blue. I tried manic panic purple haze and ot didn't look very good, or last very long for that matter. I'm a college student so i dont have a lot of money to go get it done at a salon. I am also having a lot of trouble getting my hair to a platinum blonde, my hair now is a reddish blonde color. The questions I have are 1. What brand and color(s) should i use to get it? 2. Can i use them on the redish blonde I currently have? 3. How long will it last? And 4. What does it look like faded? Thanks in advance!

If you want purple, reddish blonde is fine. You don't need a very pale blonde.
To prevent the colour fading, take a look at this thread http://www.hairdyeforum.com/index.php?topic=11009.0 it is possible to make a colour last ages.
You can mix direct dyes like manic panic like paints. So if you want a reddish purple, get a purple you like and add some red. In teensy tiny amounts though, reds are almost always strong. You'll need a pink based red though, so it doesn't start to turn murky.
But yeah, to recommend colours, it really does help to see an example of what you'd like. Everyone interprets colour differently 🙂

Pravana Wild Orchid, Adore Violet Gem, diluted Special Effects Pimpin Purple, any pink based purple will pull more towards red if you have orange tones in your base

This is Patrice beautes 3dhd color in purple on a gold/yellow base no copper/red present so you may want to bleach your hair again
