Hi all,
I currently have red/pink hair, it's a Swarzkopf LIVE color. I need it to be a more natural color for about three weeks, but I want to be able to come back to the pink after. Is there any way to temporarily cover it up? If not, any recommendations on the best way to go for a dark brown while keeping it reasonably easy to get back to pink in a few weeks?
Thanks in advance!
Hi and welcome to the forum π
You should be able to use a semi perm natural colour hair dye like one of the Via Natural colours to cover the pink/red for a while. These dyes only last a few washes, around 8-12, so you may need to re-do the dye a couple of times.
You would be best trying to lighten your existing colour as much as possible first and also make sure to try a strand test first to ensure the dye you choose has a deep enough shade to cover the current colour. You may find which some dyes that a hint of your original colour still shines through but this should be minimal and look like a 'glow' of pink/red in some bright lights
Great, thank you Nickki! The red was a first try for that brand and I have to say I'm not impressed. It looked great for about two days, and then it faded overnight from vibrant red to a soft orange. I'm going to do as you suggested and grab a semi perm natural colour, then remove it and start over with the red I think.
