I ordered some Blue Velvet, but I decided I want to have a few strands of purple in my hair as well. I want to achieve a very dark purple - similar to Plum. Since most cold pinks do not look good on me, I am looking for something warmer, if that's possible.
It needs to be Directions or Stargazer. (And if it can be a long lasting one without stain, it would be awesome; not sure that this exists ;D ) I have been eyeballing Cerise, will that work?
Will the Blue Velvet consume everything if I try to add pink/purple strands? I also have some Adore Indigo left, that I can also mix with.
Can't wait to hear your ideas!!
I mixed cerise with turquoise both directions and got a lovely purple. I imagine you'd get a nice dark purple if you mixed cerise and blue velvet. Be careful though you'd only need to add a tiny bit of the blue to the cerise as it probably would take over. I'm sure someone with more mixing experience will come along and advice you too.
Cerise would work very well, your best best would be to dilute some BV in conditioner, then add that to the Cerise little by little.
I think Cerise would be good and would mix with and compliment the Blue Velvet well. It's a cooler pink but you can get some really great purples with it. I would start with a bowl of conditioner, add some cerise, then add just a speck of blue velvet at a time so it doesn't completely take over
I personally love directions rose red to make purples with. But I just love that colour.
Thanks for the advices, this is will be my first mix from 2 totally different colors, I usually mix blues with blues or purples and blues, so I'm very excited! ;D I'll update with results after a few weeks when I receive it!
I think I'll get Cerise, and I can test out if I can fade my hair to add pink strands. Rose Red look very pinky, but I'm scared to get it because it has Red in the name haha, and I have absolutely zero red clothes or accessories. π
Yeah, I can understand that. On me it came out totally pink but I was worried by the red in the name too :p
Rose Red is the worst named dye ever! It is a lovely deep pink, a sort of neon magenta, not red at all.
