So for the past couple of months I've been rocking a pastel pink shade, or a light pink/rose gold. But the majority of dyes appear to come with some form of bleach to them, which is great but I don't want to bleach my hair every time I need to refresh my pink hue. I've been looking around at dyes and reading reviews but most either seem to be for the wrong product, or to vague, or even give bad hair dye advice.
I trust the users on here as many of you have been hair dying for years and know the best way to avoid frying your hair.
So I was hoping to get some advice in a pastel pink hair dye that does not contain a bleach, lightening or anything overly harmful for my hair. I'm happy with just a pastel pink dye that I can smack on and have it last at least a month before I get big chunky faded parts. (I have to toe my hair up for work so they are never noticeable.) I also don't mind my overly dark roots showing. I'd rather have healthy dyed hair then care that my roots are showing.
Thank you in advance.
P.s I've been tempted to get directions or colour shock (I think it's called) as I believe they are the colour no bleach types.
I'm surprised the majority of dyes you're finding have peroxide and lightens, they didn't even exist until very, very recently π
Take a look at the pinks on http://www.beeunique.co.uk/ and you'll see masses of pinks, none of which will lighten your hair at all and are really just conditioner with pigment in. The best way to do pastel pink is to dilute a strong pink with a cheap white conditioner. You can then use this mix to top up your hair every time you wash by using it as your normal conditioner to top up the colour and can avoid fading altogether.
Brands like Adore, Special Effects and Directions are the best for longevity.
