Orange hair to red

So I've been rocking a ginger/copper/orange hair last few months but the hairdresser I saw didn't bleach it properly (as I was brown before) so I have a dark band and bright at the top
The tangerine directions I use to top it up seems to make my top of my head bright then going down its darker but when Ithe washes out the top stays bright then it all goes patchy
I miss my red what I normally do it use a permanent red dye first then use special effects to keep it bright
Do you think this will work?
It's this band of darkness ginger that's bugging me and I'm thinking red won't be as obvious as this faded ginger.
Or am I going to have to bleach it again? It in really good condition atm and I'm growing it

Special effects reds are pretty forgiving. As long as the band isn't darker than the red then it should be mostly masked.

I agree, I always found Special Effects reds very forgiving of an uneven base and they don't fade quickly so you get longer without the base showing through. (but as Janine says, the red needs to be darker than the dark band, if it's ginger or light brown you should be ok though)

So I've done a colour b4 and it's pretty blonde I'm surprised it's actually turned out better then I thought.
Will have to see in natural light but I'm thinking just putting semi perm just straight on top and let my roots come out natural I'll upload photos tomorrow
