Neon Blue on ginger-ish base?

Hi everybody. I'm in the midst of the transition from black to blonde hair. At the moment my hair has varying shades of blonde and some very light ginger. I've read up on neon blue, and most say that it is very purple based - I'm wondering if it would be ok to use on my current colour? I don't mind if gingery bits go green, my only issue is that I don't want to use any red, orange or pink based dyes and risk staining my hair with warm tones (I realise the black may have already stained my hair, I just don't want to add more to it). I'm hoping that the purple base will help pull my hair to a cooler tone of blonde as it fades. Any ideas :)?

Neon blue is likely to go brown/grey over ginger hair, unless it is very light. A darker blue is more likely to cover, Midnight blue with some pink or purple added for example, or Special effects Blue velvet

Ah, I completely forgot about Midnight Blue. I thought Neon Blue because of its purple base and because it seemed like quite a strong colour. I can't remember what base Midnight had, but I suppose as it's blue it will work just the same. Its not green based is it?

It's always faded pinky lilac for me so I would say yes.

It always faded greeny turquoise for me lol. (Midnight not Neon blue) I used to add some of the old formula Plum to stop my Midnight Blue from fading green.

Midnight blue is green based, it has always faded to green on my hair (bleached blonde, not really light) while Neon Blue just faded to a lavender-grayish color. I'm not sure it would make a cooler base for a blonde though... I happened to apply Neon Blue on unbleached dark blonde (warm tone) hair and like Wicked Pixie said it took a grayish shade after a couple of washes.

Well, I had to buy Neon Blue as the shop I get it from didn't have any Midnight. Oh well, at least now I am prepared for the grey-ish (or probably brown-ish) mess that its most likely going to turn out as. Though in all fairness thats still likely to look better than my current blonde does:p Thanks for the advice anyway πŸ™‚
