SFX Blood Red over a dark ginger base should get something similar to that colour. There are probably Directions equivalents and Adore equivalents as well, but I'm more familiar with SFX reds.
Thanks for your reply. I'll check out the blood red. π
I'd second SFX Blood Red. Definitely my favourite red. π
Thanks π I'm going to go for the blood red once I get this black out of my hair! I'm currently on my 3rd box of decolour and am hoping this one will get the black out of the ends! Def the hardest colour I've ever tried to get out! Doh!!!
Thanks for your reply
If you can't get everything out of your ends, it would probably still look like a cool red to dark red/black gradient, which is awesome too.
Thanks Valaina, Yeh I was thinking it would prob look quite cool with red and black π
That would look fab!
I'm trying to get the same colour, but I'm starting with a pink base so it's not easy! Just got some new adore colours to try at the weekend so fingers crossed it'll get closer!
Be good to see how you get on with the sfx one though.
Hope you get the results you want π I've ordered the blood red and will post a before and after. Let me know how you get on too please. π
I was going to suggest Blood Red as well.
You say you've stripped back the black to a dark ginger ... you only need a medium ginger to get an awesome red shade, so I don't think you have too much farther to go π
Thanks for your reply. I have got the blood red at the ready but am having trouble getting the black out! I have used decolour 3 times and have now got the colour in the pic. I have had chunky highlights put through but still think the rest is too dark to get the colour I want. Should I do a bleach bath or use baby shampoo for a couple of weeks and decolour again? Not sure what to do next?!?! π
Having trouble posting pic. Will try later

If you've used decolour 3 Times I would suggest waiting at least a week and then bleach bathing. After three times colour removers are supposed to have stripped all the colour that they can.
I'm no expert but if that was me I'd just stick the red over it. You'll get a really interesting mix of shades of red - some darker and some brighter. I think it would look awesome - but that may just be me! ☺
