Hellooo!

Want to go silvery grey, but I am also a bit poor haha.

I always have pastel tones in my hair, so I buy a darker shade and dilute with conditioner... Are there any colours that I can do this with to achieve a grey, silver, possibly with light purple/blue is okay. I bought stargazers black, but damn, it turned red when diluted, not great..  ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Most blacks are red or green based.

I got a nice silver by mixing directions lilac with manic panic shocking blue and diluting with conditioner. It is difficult to get the ratio right. The directions silver toner worked quite well for me too.

I got my hair to silver by toning all the different faded colours I had in there. I had lilac parts, and green and yellowy parts (from bleaching out other lilacs.) I put a green mix on the lilac parts, and a pinky lilac on the green,  lilac on the yellow areas, and it turned out a really nice even silver. I did my roots with pravana silver and it all matched. It was just trial and error, but you want it to be fairly neutral leaning towards blue/lilac. If your hair is already whitish, then Neon blue diluted makes a great silver toner, or a blue green (eg Alpine Green) mixed with lilac, again heavily diluted.
