Hi girls! I wanted to ask if any of you has had experience with any turquoise semi perm hair dye? I've only seen results of turquoise by la riche directions and it's not really that bright, it's quite a deeper turquoise, however, I wanted to achieve sth more like the hair in the picture attached (I know she's got different tones through her hair but You can see she's got a very bright turquoise all over)
Thanks so much for any suggestions!
The bright turquoise looks a lot like Punky Color Turquoise to me maybe with even a little bit of their Lagoon Blue in it too. If you dilute the dye a bit with conditioner it will lighten and brighten it up a bit if you're worried about it being to dark. You could always try a couple test strands first to make sure you like it.
Or try diluted aquamarine. That makes an absolutley gorgeous turq.
I have had colours similar to that pic from Directions turquoise (greener over a darker base, bluer over fully bleached hair) before they changed the formula. It is lighter and greener now, maybe mix some Atlantic Blue in if you want a bluer turquoise.
Thanks so so so much!
Hmm... it's so confusing! I checked all the shades out, that you girls have suggested, and they all look so different... The overall result is also dependent on how light your hair is, how much of the dye you use, what shampoo you use, how long you keep the dye for, how much do you dilute it...
Asking for dye suggestions is actually pretty pointless XD
I guess i'll just buy directions one as it's cheap and readily available to me online, bleach my hair to the lightest shade possible without damaging, diluting it with conditioner, and keeping it for 12hrs+
I have directions turquoise at the moment, found it worked well was nice and bright but fades greeny quite fast I tend to use a intensive conditioner with a bit of ion cobalt blue in when it gets too green. I have attached a picture of what it looked like this was over yellow roots and faded blue ends.
Atlantic Blue or Turquoise mixed with Fluorescent Glow makes a gorgeous bright turq! Either blue or green based depending on what you're after!
A xXx

Thanks so much for posting the picture! The colour itself doesn't impress me to be honest... I was hoping it'd be brighter and just kind of more noticeable. Looks quite muted to me, but you're one pretty motherf-er π

Wow, it actually does! I really like the result of it! I presume the best results are achieved over bleached hair with the dye on for 8hrs or longer. I'll attach the exact photo from this site that I ADORE!
The lighter the base, the clearer the turquoise. Over a yellow base it will always look greener, whatever brand you use.
Different dyes work out differently on different hair, so it is always a case of trial and error to find one that suits you.
I might actually go yellow blonde from what I have now (copper brown), THEN go white with purple shampoo/toner, and THEN go manic panic turquoise dye.
I dont know yet!
I definitely want a blue turquoise, not green.
She used Turquoise by Directions and it looks great but it's probably the photo-effects and filters rather than the dye itself http://instagram.com/p/k9qt2mN-Bi/#
Directions turquoise was always an awesome bright colour, just like your original pic.

Aww thanks sweet of you to say, your suggestion of getting your suggestion of getting your hair to white sounds like a good plan I wish I had the patience to get mine to white so I could have the awesome bright colours lol
