Long lasting purple

I would suggest using special effects deep purple as a longer lasting replacement for your current dye. Its a heavily pigmented pink based purple. It should fade less quickly than directions.

Also if you currently use shampoo you can switch to co washing (conditioner only washing) which will help preserve your colour. You can also add some due to your conditioner which will top your colour up every time you wash. Washing in cool water helps too.

As for fading techniques, you could try a colour remover, these are non damaging and may take out some colour. You can also use anti dandruff shampoo to help wash colour out, or washing up liquid. There is also a technique that uses bleach powder And shampoo to strip colour out. There's a thread on it in the tutorials section, I would link to it if I wasn't on my phone.

It seems like you need ways of stopping the colour fading as plum is a very long lasting colour in my experience. Have a look through this thread below as there's lots of ways 🙂

I need to try Special effect!! I already use co wash, but I have to use shampoo at least every 5 days..!

I never use color remove, I'm a bit afraid because when I bleach the ends come out a very brilliant blue and I don't know what's happen if I use those product =D I think I'll have to cut those ends for homogenize colors!

Directions hair dyes can last upto 8 washes ... It last 4 washes on me 🙁

I can honestly say, even when I use shampoo, Plum lasts 30 washes easily for me! Most colours last a long time too. I've not had much luck with Pravana or Manic Panic lasting a loooong time. It's mostly about how you apply though, follow the steps in the thread I linked to. The length of time it's left on can make a huge difference.

Have you used the new formula Plum Janine? It is nothing like the old Plum, it fades to blue very quickly, then stays blue forever. I stopped using Plum when they changed it, and use Deep purple instead now.

30 washes?? *_* how luck!! I usually leave on for 30 minutes, the last time I left for 3 hours and lasted less 🙁 (ps: sorry for my bad english!)  :-*

How do you wash your hair, what shampoo/conditioner are you using? It could also be the reason why the dye fades so quickly. I noticed there are some shampoos that make my hairdye bleed out like crazy.

I use a professional shampoo/conditioner atm! But yes, I think it's more aggressive than other shampoo and I've to change that!
