I'm going to be bleaching my hair before going blue.
I know I'll have to k-Pak but my question is do I reconstruct after rinsing the bleach but before the veggie dye, once I've rinsed the dye before conditioning or the first time I wash after dyeing?
I don't use K-pak, but I have done a protein treatment after bleaching (I have even added a few drops of violet dye to tone at the same time) then used the dyeing process as the follow up conditioning treatment.
I am interested in other peoples answers though.
I always dilute my dyes, so I just add K-pak into my dye-conditioner-mix (and used less regular conditioner to keep the dilution the same). I have always been able to feel the difference between a regular dye-job and a K-pak-conditioner-dye-job, so I think it still works if you don't use it neat.
I use K-pak after I've rinsed out the dye. I don't do it after bleaching because I wasn't sure if the dye would take afterwards, so I just dye and K-pak afterwards. I don't condition or anything after that.
Rij, do you find the dye sticks to your hair when you k-Pak after?
What do you mean? I'm not the best person to ask about fading colour since I don't do anything to keep the colour in longer. I k-pak after because I think it coats your hair or closes the hair and dye usually takes really well to freshly bleached hair.
I never considered diluting with k-pak though! That might be a good idea if you dilute dye.
