K-Pak

Hola peeps!

So, my hair is in pretty dire condition after it's recent battering (I still hate it so dark BTW!!) but as I am desperately trying to grow it I need to get it sorted while I still can!  (it could do with a good cut to get rid of all the ends but it has taken me months to be able to get a teeny tiny ponytail so I don't want to chop it off just yet! πŸ˜‰ )

I am babying it as much as I can for now and am only washing about once a week with clean shampoo/conditioner and have been alternating between coconut oil and a treatment mask (Osmo) which is helping but it is still fairly brittle.  I am also not using any heat on it at all.

I'm not sure if it would be best to add more moisture or if I need protien - I know lots of people swear by K-Pak Reconstructor but I don't want to pay a fortune for it if it's not what I need!

A xXx

Why dont you try a protein mask? The ones that come in a one use sachet? If your hair feels better then you can go ahead and purchase the k-pak reconstructor. I think palmers do one use ones and their conditioners are really good. Although they do contain silicones.

Further to Pukerz suggestion, i was looking at this earlier:

Or I've just come across this on super drug's website: http://www.superdrug.com/Palmer%27s/Palmer%27s-Coconut-Oil-Formula-Protein-Pack-60g/p/335250#.VAbmBkvRjwI

could be a cheap way to try a protein treatment and see how you get on?

Don't forget to do a moisturising treatment after as your hair will probably feel dry.

Cheers, I havent bought any yet but found an article on natural treatments instead

3Tbs Coconut Oil
3 Tbs Honey
1 egg yolk
+ a few drops of tea tree oil

mix everything up an with the melted coconut oil til it is well blended, put on dry hair and cover, leave it for at least an hour then wash/condition as normal with cool water and a nice moisturising conditioner.

For me it took 2 good scrubs to get rid of it all but after 2 treatments a week apart I can't believev how much softer my hair feels!  *1*
