thank you all so much...I will buy two just in case, even if I won't use one I can return it...
I will do it tomorrow and I will let you know...So wish me luck (I ve had a 99% in physics, how difficult can dying my hair be ?)
That's good to know wicked pixie I personally would find it a lot easier to apply to dry hair since my hair pieces together and tangles when it's wet x
I always dye my hair dry, it is much easier to see that every strand is covered that way too. I really struggle to untangle mine when I have washed it with shampoo and no conditioner prior to dyeing. it is easier for me to let it dry before attempting to get a brush through it lol.
It's funny the wildly different experiences we have!
If I try and dye my hair dry I use 3 times as much dye, I get worse tangles (when it's longer) when it's dry and I tried the water trick with dye and ended up in a total mess with really patchy hair! lol
I always dye with damp hair, i leave it to air dry after i have shampood and when its at that stage that its still wet but dry enough to comb (about 80% dry) then i apply the dye.
The few times I have died my hair it's been on bone dry hair that's been shampooed and blowdried. I only tone my hair now because it's blonde (and do that on towl dried damp hair). I never even considered dyeing on damp hair. I wonder how it will work for me. The next time I dye my hair it will be on dry hair though because I want to go lilac or silver an I'm thinking is creating a multi-tonal look so it would probably be better for precision.
I told the girl working at the hair dye area what developer should I use so that my hair won't end up orange and she gave me a 40 and a 30 volume ...Isn't that too much?
Yes, don't use 40 vol at all, I would return both and get 20 vol if you have good bleach. One bleaching with 30 and not so great bleach will have the same effect, but be slightly more damaging. If your hair is virgin one 30 vol bleach should be ok. (Unless it is super fine, super long, already damaged etc)
I have Schwarzkopf developers and and a bleach from Faipa roma(?) blue powder 100% ammonia free
I have healthy hair, not damaged at all, shiny mixed curls...
I use 30 vol only on my virgin (level 4, possibly even level 3 at the very roots) hair that's very healthy (about average thickness hair). I've never actually considered using 20 vol on virgin hair, but now I have matrix light master I might give it a go as a strand test. I wonder what the difference in condition will be. Then after one bleach on Virgin hair I always start bleach bathing after that.
The only time I've ever used 40 vol was on my mums hair (we used some random bleach), but hers is jet black and very resistant, so I feel like it would be way too strong for hair any lighter than black.
I can do my roots (level 3-4) with Matrix Light master and 20 vol, gets me to 'inside of a banana' lightest yellow. Not sure how long it takes as i tend to keep an eye on the colour rather than the time.
Actually that's true for my roots, I can definitely get it to pale inside of a banana blonde too within the time they say it should be left on for, so I will do a strand test for my longer regrowth.
I'm a level 2-3 and get to pale yellow with 20 vol and a good powder. I do have very little red in there though, it barely goes through an orange stage at all. My Japanese friend is level 1-2 and has a ton of red in her hair, it's virtually impossible to get paler than a ginger on her no matter what we do!
