Indigo blue over this? Edited after bbath.

Hi there  πŸ™‚ I've been using violet gem for months but am not liking the pink it fades to. Do you think indigo blue would cover this and does anyone know what it fades like? I only want to use adore as that has the least rub off by far and I want purple. I have about 4 inches of roots which is a light brown, I'm going to do a bleach bath but not on the pink as it's not in the best condition. Thanks for any help  πŸ™‚

I've done my bleach bath, the roots are now a mix of yellow and golden blonde and the rest is still pinky purple. I have 1 tub of indigo blue and 1/3 of violet gem. Would it be ok to mix them or would that make a yucky colour? I'm just trying to create a more even colour with my hair being 2 totally different colours at the moment. Thanks again

Indigo blue is purple-based blue so theoretically it should go purple over your pink.  Strand test!  πŸ™‚

I think I'll order it and hope for the best. I just put 14 pots of directions and adore (various colours) onto freecycle as I didn't like how they came out on me. I'm just a bit worried the top of my hair will be blue and the rest purple. I've tried fading the ends but it seems to have faded as much as it's going to. Thanks for your reply πŸ™‚

That's going to be hard to avoid if you're dying on different bases.  If you don't want that look (I think it would be great though) then after you've bleached your roots you could dye them to match the pink in the rest of your hair then dye over it all with the IB.  Not 100% sure if that would work though tbh.

That's a good idea, never thought of that! I have some violet gem left so will give it a shot πŸ™‚

This is the result after a bleach bath. I have a lot of hair and don't think 1 bottle of indigo blue will be enough. Would it mix with violet gem or would that make it a yuk colour? Also would it cover my roots? I've been trawling the net looking for answers and my heads swimming! I really need to colour it today as I have an appt monday and don't want to go out looking like worzels mrs πŸ™ thanks

If you want an even colour try just Indigo Blue over the pink parts and add some Violet Gem for the freshly bleached areas. Mixing the two will just create a purple . Adore is strongly pigmented, so you can dilute with conditioner and it wont alter the result. You will get more coverage that way.

I'd already put indigo diluted with conditioner on before I saw your reply about mixing them. I'm quite happy with the outcome, the bleached bits have gone a bit green but they actually seem to blend in quite well. Btw I love your hair!
