I had brown hair. So on January 19th, my hairdresser bleached my whole head , but had to bleach the body of my hair (not the roots or underneath) again because I have a lot of hair. We dyed my hair with manic panic, after midnight, and it turned out awesome. I waited 7, almost 8 weeks before I dyed my hair again, and that blue faded to a really pretty pastel mint color, but the body of my hair was really green. On March 12, we dyed over the faded mint with the ultra violet (for 1 1/2 hours), but didn't bleach my roots or anything. My hair turned out a really pretty violet color (photo 1), and I waited a week to wash my hair, and when I did, almost all of the dye washed out (photo 2). The green part of my hair is now brown, and the purple is kind of a periwinkle blue color. What can I do to fix this? My goal is all over purple that will eventually fade to a pastel purple that I can keep for awhile.
Sorry my pictures are out of order!!
Try re dying. Make sure you use a clarifying shampoo to wash your hair beforehand and do NOT use conditioner. The ultra violet is usually darker so it looks to me like it didnt take properly.
Ultra Violet is a finicky shade. If your hair wasn't bleached to platinum, it likely turned the too dark sections brown because it toned them. It is also a quick fading color. Do you have access to other brands? That is what I would recommend.
