How to prevent dye ruboff on wedding day

Hello,

I have a question about preventing dye ruboff. I use SFX Blue Velvet, and while I really love the colour, the ruboff onto my skin is dreadful. If I sweat and a strand of hair is lying against my skin, it turns my skin blue and it's really hard to come off (-_-)

I'm having my roots done/dye touchup on August 30th, and I'll be getting married on September 10th. Usually my hair dye rubs off on my skin for 2-3 weeks, minimum after dyeing. Besides washing my hair every day to get rid of as much dye as I can (while hopefully not overfading it πŸ™ ), does anyone have any tips that might prevent ruboff? I'm worried as the back of my dress is low and I'll have a long hairstyle (updos don't look great on me), and I don't want my back/forehead to me blue on my wedding day!!  πŸ˜› Thanks in advance!

It's quite simple πŸ™‚ Just mix with enough conditioner so it doesn't make the colour paler at all. That is enough to dilute the pigment so there's little to no rub off. You can also do a vinegar rinse (1 part vinegar to 10 parts of water, pour over hair after washing and leave in, the smell will go!) which helps seal the cuticle. It makes your hair shinier too πŸ™‚

The only thing that would cause rub off or run off then would be getting it wet! So if it rains, don't do the trendy photos in the rain that people are doing these days. My friend is a wedding photographer and she talks all her brides into doing them when it's raining and they do look lovely. Whilst a wet and dirty dress can be cleaned off, blue dye would be a nightmare lol

Hahaha, photos in the rain sound like a nightmare when you have bleed-y hair!  πŸ˜€ I'll be getting my hair done at the salon I usually go to, so I don't think we'll be able to do the vinegar rinse there. Do you think it'd have the same effect if I did the rinse the next time I washed my hair at home? Thanks πŸ™‚

Basically, you want to do the rinse  each time you wash, at least for the first few washes after it's dyed and the rub off has stopped. It's not a permanent thing, it just lasts until it's washed again. You can always ring up your salon and ask if they'll do it.

Far more important is the diluting the dye though. It really can eliminate rub off completely!
