How to gradually turn to my natural grey hair after having dyed them for years?

Hi everyone, I turned grey when I was very young and started dying my hair dark brown ever since.  I am now 52 and my natural hair is practically fully grey by now. I wanted to gradually start letting my hair turn grey by maybe using a grey dye and then phasing it out over a year or two to my natural hair. Is this possible? Is there a recommended way of doing this?

Someone advised me to use BES F.11 hairdye for a grey hair colour and dash it with some black initially and then gradually start decreasing the black dye. Does anyone have any experience using BES F.11? I looked at the BES color chart and it looked grey by itself, should I still mix it with a dash of black or can use it for this purpose on its own.

Any suggestions would be most welcomed. Thanks

If you're naturally grey underneath, try a colour remover first.  You won't get grey if you just dye on top of what you already have, as dying hair is like mixing paints--lighter on top of darker doesn't really make much difference.
