This is my current colour which is ok (if a smidge on the orangey side of red for my liking) but ideally I would like it to be much brighter and more vibrant red. Plus, my roots/greys are horrific and desperately need done too. ('scuse the grotty pics but I am ill and feelings sorry for myself :(). Also, I REALLY hate fading it for days/weeks so ideally I would like to go straight to a nice bright red if possible!!
So, realistically I have got these options:
a) Bleach the whole lot then cover with a Candy Apple/Nuclear mix
b) Use a red box dye then use the same CA/N to add depth and vibrancy
c) something totally different that I haven't thought of but another clever person will suggest
Which would be the best option? If I bleach my whole head will I get an even colour all over with the new one? (quite a strong colour so would probably cover any patchiness but don't ant massively different colour roots). If I do a red box dye, it will probably have a brown base so won't last long and probably won't be all that vibrant after a few washes. I've tried just going over the existing colour with the CA/N mix but it doesn't cover/stick to my roots/greys at all.
Suggestions please?
A xXx
Well, by the looks of it, you've used a box red to get the colour you have now? Or that was your starting point? (if I'm wrong there then completely ignore me). So I'd imagine the least damaging option would probably be to use a colour remover a couple of times. Any decent one should get you to some level of ginger, at which point the CA/N mix will probably show up marvelously. Obviously if you want to do your roots then it would probably be best to do the colour remover first, leave it for a week or so and then bleach bath your roots - that way if the colour removers don't get you light enough you could also pull the bleach bath through your ends. I know thats still a couple weeks worth of waiting, but trying to rush to the colour you want will result in either unnecessary damage or an equally undesirable colour
